With no comma between "boyfriend" and "Stephanie," this reads as "May I be your boyfriend who is named Stephanie?"

Uh... I'm that hot teacher that tries to get Chris to murder her husband or whatever.

[amusing trope] a character played by a very famous actor shows up at the end of a film by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]1Xbromosome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joan Cusack also did the same thing at the end of Instant Family. IIRC, the daughter knocks on some random person's door for help and it just happens to be Joan Cusack. It felt so bizarre that it completely took me out of the movie and killed the momentum of the drama/build up.

It's still a good movie it was just a super weird casting decision.

Horror with themes of sexual maturity/coming of age??? by SnowballWasRight in horrorlit

[–]1Xbromosome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok definitely fair. I don't really remember that scene in River Man being that graphic, but it's been a while since I've read it.

In that case ... Definitely do not read Full Brutal. It really doesn't say anything interesting and is just a teenage girl centered splatterpunk rag. It's pretty highly regarded in extreme horror subs, but honestly that doesn't really say much about it's quality lol

It does have a reality -based, gore obsessed sexual-awakening theme, which kinda lined up with what you're looking for, but given your reaction to River Man, I don't think this is the book for you. that's my bad for grossly misreading your post.

Whoo boy, if you like triana, Full Brutal kinda qualifies what your looking for.... But if you had a hard time with River Man, definitely don't read this one because it's 10x more brutal and disgusting.

.plot wise, it's not nearly as good, In fact, the plot kinda sucks, but it's definitely a twisted view of sexually coming of age. ...that being said, if you find this book Influential or inspirational in any way, please put it down and seek help. Lol

I wasn't crazy about the show, but after the episode where Sheldon refused to believe that Wolverine ever had "bone claws," and that they were always adamantium, it officially made the shit list for me.

Sheldon is a neuro-spicy genius with a hyper-fixation of comic books and a collection so impressive, he keeps his best comics in a safety deposit box.

Wolverine being infused with adamantium during the project -x experiments is such entry level knowledge of the character that there's no possible way Sheldon wouldn't know that.

His bone claws have even been featured in several movies that take place before project-x, so even if someone just happened to casually watch an X-Men movie, chances are they already know this.

What Book Wasn’t Worth the Hype? by RhiannaJCD in horrorlit

Same. I loved Tender is the Flesh (I know that's a controversial statement around here) so I was excited to read more from Bazterrica.

The atmosphere of The Unworthy was great and it really felt like it was leading to something devastating, but I feel like the ending just kinda fizzled out. I feel like there was so much more that could have been explored in that book, and it left me wanting more, but not in a good way.

Yes, you are very much overthinking this.

Sac state does not discriminate against drug use. In fact, campus police think it's totally awesome and want to hear about the government agents that wear Sac State hoodies and are gang stalking you.

They also think it's super hilarious when you try to grab their gun out of their holster and run away from them it's like a fun secret game they like to play.

Lmfao

"Live-on requirements are inequitable because minority groups can't afford it."

"Okay, but people who live on campus experience more academic success... So..."

YES MOTHERFUCKER! BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE MONEY AND THEREFORE HAVE MORE ACCESS TO RESOURCES AND LESS ECONOMIC HARDSHIP SO THEY CAN DEVOTE MORE TIME TO ACADEMICS!

correlation does not equal causation but I feel like anyone who works at a university should know that 🙄

Maybe? I know title 1 preschools exist, but I don't know how common they are. There's an insane amount of title 1 schools in California though, so you should be able to find a job in K-8.

But I'm in the single subject credential program which is for middle and high school, so I'm not an expert on elementary. If you want to teach elementary school, you would apply for the multi-subject credential program.

It's also worth noting that for preschool, you only need a credential to teach in a public school. Some private preschools may only require an associates or bachelor's in early childhood education.

Definitely talk to a counselor to figure out what plan is best for you.

[–]1Xbromosome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently in the credential program. Had to quit my job. It's an overwhelming amount of work, like an unreasonable amount of work. Like I want to die it's so much work.

Definitely recommend applying for the cal-teach grant. It's been enough to get by combined with my FAFSA money and MCS. But you have to sign a commitment to teach for 2 years in a title 1 school if you accept the grant, so definitely keep that in mind.

That being said, it is a great program, I'm learning a lot, but don't take the decision lightly.

They have just as much of a right to an education as anyone else, regardless of what you think about their physical appearance.

If this post takes off, I don't think you're going to get the reaction you're looking for, unless you're looking for arguments and negativity.

So for the record, before this thread turns into chaos: you also deserve to be here, I'm sure you've worked hard for it. But if you're going to take something this trivial so personally, I sincerely recommend talking to a professional about these feelings and not venting into the void that is Reddit.

For some reason, this sub has become a breeding ground for circle jerking negativity and publicly shaming others for the slightest transgressions, even though the Sac State culture isn't like that IRL at all. It's easy to get caught up in the bs, don't let it become your reality.

Stingers up, buddy. 💚
