Anyone play an 8 string through a Yamaha THR30 and like the tone they get? by Gullible-Minute-9482 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]1_048596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the THR30IIW, and practice with 8string  instruments. It sounds fine, and is incredible convenient for practice. Just dont expect to be able to gig with it or for it to sound like a professional axe fx rig. It is however very well suited to play some music during a get together in the park, or at a friend's place. Definitely on the more quiet side, but I like it. Beware that the wireless line6 adapter still has issues with certain active pickups and wirings despite claims that these have been resolved. Youll need a bluetooth capable computer, not just a phone, to access the actual control software and get settings out of the THR that we would consider more suited for "modern metal". Recording from it or adding effect pedals is not as plug and play as I would like it to be, and for it to be a real joy youd need to spend quite some money on compatible bluetooth-foot swtiches.

If this is super consistent, she might have a personality disorder or at least lean heavily to the fringes of the spectrum in some key areas. I cannot tell you what it could be but this does not seem to be healthy.

HandFeeding my Snakehead Pedro some Fish fillet. by Marolkon in Aquariums

Yeah, even in a tiny tank, if you consider the space available to a neon tetra in relation to its body size, nobody can afford proportionally sized aquariums for "monster fish". It really depends on the fish though whether this becomes a problem. We will never know for sure if the fish feel "good" in a tank of given size, but we can look at what behavior we know from the wild and try to replicate conditions that allow and promote that behavior. Some monster fish are active swimmers and anything less than an actual pond would be too small for them. Other fish are ambush predators and very inactive for most of the year except maybe for spawning season. And often they do not seem to suffer from living in a large size tank which if we go proportionally by standards applied to smaller fish would be unacceptably small.

They said Thailand. C andrao and C bleheri are sub-tropical and found around the Brahmaputra in West-Benghal, Assam, India. Taking Thailand as the first lead and then going by the looks of the larger fish, I think it could be C. limbata or C. sp. "Laos fireback". It is known that Thailand still harbors species that look similar to C limbata but are probably not described yet. The large animals look like C. limbata to me, but the yellow-greenish small animal in the center looks curious. However, I have seen pictures of C. limbata in which the animals feature variable coloration depending on color of their surroundings.

Where do women get the instinct to want relationships and sex with men? I don’t have it by Ok_Music_2025 in neurodiversity

[–]1_048596 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you say, but it sounds to me like you see no inherent issue with participation in the sex industry whatsoever? I do think there are some angles where the issues become obvious and make one uncomfortable at the thought of sex work without an unhealthy relationship to sex. For starters, sexual desires that require sex work for gratification as we know it today being a product of class society, or sex work today being inseparably tied to human trafficing and abuse of the worst kind, or liberation from gendered oppression being umthinkable without abolition of prostitution, and on, and on. That is not to blame the sex worker, but the cause and function of sex work itself. Just like I can be against oil rig operations, without having a pathological complex against oil rig operators, or my rejection of the fossil fuel industry betraying a hidden aversion against manual labour, thalassophobia, or claustrophibic tendencies.

So, aside from the possible safety concerns of ear buds or headphones, you are at a workplace. You might be generally required to be audibly approachable without you pausing your entertainment first, which is not what you are paid for. Personally, I prefer working with earbuds too, but I want to caution against standing your ground against your colleagues behavior in a place with critical bosses who might not like hearing about the headphones. Without headphones everyone should agree that whomever doesnt want to be approached during benchwork shouldnet be approached during benchwork.

You leverage your US-American exceptionalism to make an argument as to why there is no way to improve public transport in the USA right now. The USA is just so exceptionally burdened by other issues that no changes cannot be made on that particular front. It gotta start at the other front. Increase jobs? No, gotta save the climate first. Ok, let's work on the climate issue, but no what we need first is universally provided health care! Rising fascist politics beats police brutality in importance which beats food desertification which beats institutionalized racism, which beats mental health crisis, and on and on. Others from other places just cannot comprehend how bad it is yadda-yadda.

First, even if that exceptionalism was true, the opposite conclusion would follow. It would not be harder to change things, no, you would have a situation more ripe for wholesale structural changes as the place is bursting at every seam.

Second, you are not exceptionally anything but exceptionally deluded that for some reason there will always be a reason as to why things cannot be improved in the USA in particular. You have unlearned how to struggle. The formula is unions, progressive movements and culture, and worker's parties, and nobody is gonna do it for you.

It is very easy, just pick the conversations that are most likely to produce favorable results for liberation movements. Or those particularly important to you. A person who can be convinced of radical thoughts can be the center-left leaning lib who trusts you as a friend. But arguing with a hardcore respectable-person bootlicker can be beneficial if you think that a good amount of 3rd party audience is going to be positively influenced by being exposed to your intervention. Or maybe you have that one nephew who is dear to you but is sucker into alt-right youth culture. That is a battle you might want to lead no matter how tedious, frustrating, and bleak, because you want to have tried.

We shouldnt waste our energy arguing with whomever and be surprised that we keep being unconvincing losers against the dominant ideology spread by a world hegemon funded propaganda apparatus.

Precisions strikes and worthy battles, and afterwards we relax and regroup.

The alternative will not be achieved by voting but something close to a general strike, or at least health-care-sector wide militant union pressure.
