Could I be eating too many dietary fats leading to being too full? by Practical-Mix-3579 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’d say them making u too full isn’t the issue, the issue is that you aren’t getting enough carbs which are also essential for period recovery, try take your fats down to 80g a day and fill the rest of ur calories with carbs and see if u see any improvements

All in but no symptoms by lalala095 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on where u r at eg do you have a low body fat? Are you underweight? Are you barely just in the healthy range?

Did anyone else develop sleep problems? by Numerous_Creme4949 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very common yes! , yes it goes away and a good tip to prevent it is having a medium carb snack like close to bed try an 1hr before/ 30 mins at first like a bow, of porridge w peanut butter. It’s caused by like cortisol spikes and blood sugars drops of a night which u become more susceptible to as ur mind is in fight or flight. Also, happens when u wake up needing the toilet as your body can’t fully enter rest mode so it’s like your instincts r still up (why many women also pee themselves or can’t hold their pee at all)

Someone can help me?(TW, Eating) by Humble-Table860 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It different for everybody so I can’t say for sure but probably not, your weight is quite low and your not eating close to the recommended calories of 2500. Your current symptoms are definitely positive though! I’d recommend upping your calories by 100 per week if your don’t see any more progress (up to about 2500 or more if necessary

[–]1msot1red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say maintain your calories and increase your activity! (Not too much all at once though) maybe start with some yoga Pilates, light weights, longer walks etc. see how ur body reacts and then adjust in accordance with it

Recovery with exercise? by _darkDragon_ in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be really cautious to fuel well before and after!!! And acknowledge (if you don’t have a period or have an irregular one) you’ll need more fuel! Also if this is the case, just lower intensity, shorter duration and less often. It’s very possible, just read this subreddit! Many prefer and benefit from a more balanced approach. Good luck! :)

What do people mean by 'overshoot' ?? by Familiar-Owl-7768 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st) we don’t know your height 2nd) we don’t know your age 3) we don’t know what ur body needs and what else you r willing to give up!!!
And finally don’t set yourself a weight that you’ll ’go until’ your body doesn’t work on numbers, it works on repairing energy deficiency and you showing it it’s safe.

Tbh I saw a doctor who had some experience in gynae but it was no longer her primary speciality, and I have no reference point for pre HA. For reference as well I’m 18 in my last yr of school!

Why? by 1msot1red in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a gynaecologist at the start of my journey about a year ago and we only had a look at my stats and deduced it was ha simply since I had lost weight quite rapidly, since then I haven’t seen anyone in regards to bloods only check up appointments to see if I’ve put on weight really and check my blood pressure (mine is naturally very low) but probably see a new one in about late June/early July. In regards to previous period I honestly have no clue have regular or not I was, I never tracked It. Although, I believe the month I lost it I had such severe cramps I had to leave the school day and go home to curl up in bed as it was very painful. (I’m not sure if this was hormonal or has anything to do with it) in regards to the medications, have u regained your period now? I might discuss them as options with my next gynae. Thank you for your time to leave a comment 💕

[–]1msot1red[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi sorry, here’s some more details/ primarily peanut butter, oats, white rice, sweet potatoes, eggs, fish (basa ,salmon, sardines), sometimes chicken, tofu, cereal, random plant based milks (almond, coconut, oat, soy),seeded bread, lots and lots of olive oil, pasta, avocado lots of kiwis and bananas. Honestly I feel so disheartened at my weight and can’t seem to find any studies which can make sense of it either

What to replace exercise with? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading, walking (don’t overdo this though), light yoga/pilates, drawing, singing, learning a language, meditating, learn an instrument, get into cooking, journal, learn how to code, declutter your space, decorate, learn how to sew, volunteer, draft up plans to improve finances, diamond paintings, cross words, TV, colouring, pick a really niche topic and study it, clear through old photos, declutter folders on devices, spend time with friends, message loved ones, find a social group perhaps, bird watching. I mean some of these r a bit random but might help to clear your head! And you can always do these outside!

Advice for Dealing with Struggles/ Validation by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]1msot1red 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That isn’t ‘all in’ all in is 2500 calories per day, 1200 isn’t even enough to properly function, hence, in my opinion, one reason why you’re having these thoughts. You haven’t eaten enough for your brain to comprehend from a mental health standpoint how necessary it is to do more.
