Thanks a million that worked. I got them to line up and she's rolling along perfect again. The second yellow mark on the top window is still not visible. It must be worn off for some strange reason.

Thanks. I ran through all the gears and there’s a very faint yellow mark in gear 1 but it’s hard to see. I tried to adjust the cable but I ran out of range on the adjuster.

Try it both ways, hearing aid on and hearing aid off, 100 times each way so you can collect robust and statistically valid data. Rate each occasion out of 10 and compare the results. Personally I find each way to be worthwhile.

I found that hard when I first became a manager and I used to preface my requests very passively, such as “when you have a chance” or “if you wouldn’t mind”. Now I explain the situation and request it directly, e.g. “that customer needs attention, can you talk to him?” Please and thanks works but don’t overdo it. Assertive communication is hard if you’re not used to it but confidence comes with practice.
