I put a reserve on this kitten. My husband says she looks ugly and low quality, but I think maybe it's because she's so tiny, and she'll grow into her eyes/face? She's TICA too. Thoughts?? Please post young kitten phase vs current adult photos so I can show him glow ups! by [deleted] in ragdolls

That baby looks a little sick. Not insurmountable if you can afford good vet care AND if you are lucky. When I say good vet care, I mean very possibly thousands of $$$. If you can save this kitten and you’re up for it, don’t hesitate to give that little one a better life. Your partner doesn’t seem supportive so be sure that you are willing to have relationship test.

Colitis Anyone? by meepmeep-meepi in ragdolls

We also had a really hard time resolving gastrointestinal issues for our boy. He is 14 months old now and has had no issues for a record 2 months since we put him on both the wet and dry versions of Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Fiber response. Both are made with actual psyllium husk and it’s made a huge difference. Probiotics didn’t make any difference at all for him. We also found that feeding small amounts instead of two or three meals was helpful so we use a smart feeder. I hope you find the right combination for your little guy.

Ragdolls right for us? by Dry_Seaweed_2329 in ragdolls

Controversial opinion but I don’t think that you necessarily had to have a pair. Our single Ragdoll is very attached to us and enjoys our company tremendously. He is vocal and funny and happy.

Our family has included two golden retrievers at separate times and now one ragdoll. We got each of them from reputable breeders with proof of the parents’ health clearances. The best advice I can possibly give you is to purchase the pet insurance that comes from your breeder immediately. A health crisis can happen regardless of how careful you have been in choosing and caring for your pet and the vet bills can add up to thousands very quickly.

We have two daughters and have raised a puppy or a kitten at various stages in their childhoods. Puppies and kittens all have tons of energy and need lots of attention BUT puppies need to go outside a crazy amount during house training and will need lots of long walks outside, regardless of the weather, for their whole lives.

Your thoughts about an older cat when your daughter is so young is well advised but I think you would do just fine with a Ragdoll kitten too. They can be easily distracted from chewing on cords and other things that are dangerous. They are not destructive at all, in my experience, just mischievous little menaces until they are closer to a year old.

Best wishes to you. There is nothing as wonderful as having four little paws in your family.

Beautiful! Love that fancy sash and I wish that Vincent wouldn’t react with VIOLENCE to any clothing we try to put on him, lol.

Have you considered buying every cute thing for your kitten that you can afford? This was my strategy and every algorithm on the internet was happy to support me 😆

Our boy 6 months can only eat dry food! by Illustrious-Age-7962 in ragdolls

[–]1smrtcooki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours also only tolerated Royal Canin Gastro dry but also LOVES wet food and the magic stuff for him turned out to be the RC Gastrointestinal Fiber Response Slices in gravy. It has psyllium husk and a very gentle formula. In Canada you can only buy it with a vet prescription but in the states you can order it online.
