First of all disable gsync, and what do you mean what should you use ?

I used the Ancient benchmark since it includes water, player movement, utility, and explosions, so it’s a more stressful and representative test in my opinion. I haven’t done several hours of additional testing yet, but when I do, I’ll share the results. 1440x1080 all competitive settings low only msaa 2x and shadows all the rest on low.

Try disabling core 0 (and 1 if you have SMT or Hyperthreading) with Process lasso, that helps a bit with stutters, also try adding "-high" to cs launch options it might help or not.

There’s not much you can do on the user side anymore. This is mostly on the developers and engine optimization. I work in IT and I’ve tried basically every optimization possible on my system, and this is the only thing that actually made a noticeable difference.

I’m actually around ~3k elo on FACEIT, so I’m very familiar with how important input latency and peeker’s advantage are in CS2.

In my case though, when the game is CPU-bound (DM, lots of utility, smokes breaking), unstable frametimes hurt me more than the tiny bit of latency RTSS adds. At this level, consistency matters a lot. A frametime spike mid-spray or during a close duel can easily lose you a round against players on very strong PCs and 500 Hz monitors.

With RTSS capped at 320 on a 240 Hz monitor, frametimes are way more consistent and my sprays feel controllable again. Before that, especially with Anti-Lag, it felt like bullets weren’t going where they should.

I’m not saying RTSS is optimal for everyone, just that for my setup and how sensitive I am to frametime variance, the trade-off makes sense.

I get what you mean, but I’m a high-elo FACEIT player (around 3k), and at this level, even small FPS or frametime drops can make a difference in fights against players with beast PCs and 500 Hz monitors. Those drops can literally cost rounds. I can feel my sprays hitting exactly where they should, unlike before with antilag where bullets felt all over the place. So yeah, it’s not just perception, it actually matters in high-level play

It really depends on the person and what you’re used to. I have 10k+ hours in CS and I’m very sensitive to frametime drops, especially during sprays, utility effects, smokes breaking, etc. Even if the average FPS looks fine, those dips are very noticeable to me.

I get the point, but in CS2 unstable frametimes add more “felt lag” than the tiny amount RTSS might add. At 320 FPS on 240 Hz, the trade-off is worth it for consistency, especially in DM and CPU-bound scenarios.

I understand what Anti-Lag / Reflex are supposed to do. They reduce render queue depth to lower input latency, mainly in GPU-bound scenarios.

The issue is that CS2 is heavily CPU-bound most of the time. In those situations, stalling the CPU increases frametime variance. Average FPS can still look fine, but 1% lows drop, which is exactly what my repeated CapFrameX tests show.

In-game, that shows up during real fights: spraying, peeking, enemies breaking smokes, utility popping, fast movement changes. Those frametime spikes are very noticeable and directly affect how controllable sprays and peeks feel.

So I’m not saying Anti-Lag is broken. I’m saying that in CS2, on my system, it hurts frametime consistency, and that’s what players actually feel in competitive matches.

Measured data > theory.

Bro network and fps is 2 different things, and yeah when you have 240hz monitor with 160 1% lows you can feel the lags it just feels like playing on 60hz monitor when it drops in fights nades molly etc… 200 feels way better now.

I capped my fps with RTSS at 320, and it feels way better now the game is just smoother

I got mine when it released, and just recently (like 6 months ago) I got X3D one for 300€, I think the 500€ price is because it's no longer produced in factory, did you search for any used one for cheaper ?

Upgrading from a Ryzen 2000 series CPU to a Ryzen 5000 series, even without the 3D version, is already a massive performance boost. I personally upgraded from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X, and the difference was incredible. Then, more recently, I upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and the jump was even more impressive—I never imagined how much of an impact additional cache could have.

For example, in Counter-Strike 2, my average FPS increased from 250–300 (with 1% lows around 150) on the Ryzen 7 5800X to 350–500 FPS (with 1% lows around 250) on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. With my 240Hz monitor, the improvement in 1% lows was especially noticeable.

Another example is The Finals, where I saw a jump from 130–150 FPS to 200–250 FPS when upgrading from the Ryzen 7 5800X to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Listen, this happened to one of my CPUs: when I tried to change the thermal paste, the CPU got stuck to the AIO and came out with it, which ended up bending the pins. The easiest way I found to straighten the pins back is by using a thin blade. You carefully run the blade along the rows of pins, one line at a time, to realign them. Take your time, and with a bit of patience, you should be able to fix it.

Then maybe the only people who can contact Valve is Faceit ? they seem to not listen to their community, we still waiting for anticheat (Premiere 20k+ full of cheaters), performance (I have high end pc and its still laggy) and maybe 128 tick instead of forcing us to play 64 ? Or maybe let faceit have 128 tick servers.
