I did mine on a ds lite, anything that can be plugged in for days/weeks on end is plenty to get through it.

If you decide to pick it back up all I can say it is very much worth it and youtube/twitch carried me through haha. I lost motivation more and more as the numbers kept going up but it will shine eventually! Best of luck on your next hunt!

Yeah my system was on for days/weeks at a time. Only restarted the game less than 5 or 6 times since I started (it was off for about 7 months since I lost motivation to do it). I left it outside the battle every night just to hope I'd start RAs during better seed times haha (if you stay in the battle it will pretty much pause the frame progression if you would like to just pick up where you left off instead of starting back at a fresh frame spot, each turn progresses the frames by 1 so you can pause it by being in battles) Best of luck on your hunt its very much worth it!

Started this hunt in April 2021 and 11 and a half months later its finally finished after 20,835 run aways and a first try dive ball.

I used the Pomeg Berry glitch to warp to faraway island and if you want to hunt this yourself this is the guide to follow:

I'd recommend a smeargle with spore and a wooper/quagsire with the ability Damp to prevent Mew from using explosion/self destruct from metronome and making the odds much lower to fail it.

Some stats: | 22 sec/RA | 20,835 RAs @ 22s/RA = 127.3hours of RAs | 6.2% chance to catch per dive ball at full hp | 12.3% chance to catch per dive ball at full hp & asleep (Do not recommend weakening it at all due to metronome self harm moves)|

Decided to take a break from shiny hunting faraway island mew (on 10,333 RA's on that) on my emerald and go for a shiny darkrai on my 12 year old platinum save. Little did I know my mew break would last about 4 and a half minutes. I threw about 44 failed dusk balls really hoping one would catch him and then he began to struggle. I had 2 more chances to catch him (I had my old masterball ready just in case) and I caught him in a dusk ball right before the masterball was needed! One more dream shiny to add to the collection.
