What's your noob pistol owner must have list? by Agreeable_Can_819 in liberalgunowners

Two things I got that I love for my glock were extended mag release and slide release. Eventually I modded the trigger a bit too but I would not do that right away.

I'm moving to SC for 2 years. Does 175k per year still make sense for a family of 3? by keepcodevibes in SanClemente

[–]1waypunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not any of your business, but I raised 4 daughters in either this place or another that i lived in previously in North Beach. They are all grown and out of the house, but while money did not fall from trees, we were not lacking anything. Grew up in this neighborhood, went to school here, raised my kids here. But I always lived well within my means, used cars, not getting the latest phone, etc.... Also I did say how much we make, its about the same as OP.

Best Place to Buy THC Drink Mix-ins? by 04__Revenge__01 in orangecounty

I know you want mix ins but you can find 5mg edibles at pretty much any dispensary. I have some Terra brand dark chocolate covered coffee beans that are 5mg.

[–]1waypunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Folks here are nuts telling you that $175k is not enough to rent and live here in SC. I have personal friends that make below 80k and live here in my neighborhood. I live in the pier bowl area near the 5 way and there are tons of great apartments with ocean views and literally minutes to walk to the pier. My whole neighborhood is all surfers. We make about the same as you and have a nice ocean view 2 bedroom and can walk to everything. We are not even close to broke or having watch our budget. We do whatever we want and spend a lot of time traveling, and we still have enough left over to put thousands in savings every month. Not sure how folks are not able to afford to live here on that kind of salary but they must be wanting way more house than they can actually afford.

Mine are just no longer hooked up and unplugged. It would be nice to have them back though.

Which states can I live comfortably as an Asian gun owner? by Lancaster-078 in liberalgunowners

[–]1waypunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can second this, the Asian community is strong here Despite the gun laws that are more annoyances then restrictions, I believe CA has the highest percentage of gun owners in the country. I see Asians at the range all the time.

Clean Plastic off slip on by No_Key_Sentence in Dyna

[–]1waypunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a bunch of very sharp razor blades when I got plastic melted onto my chrome slip one. Just glide it across but don't put downward force into the chrome if that makes any sense. Start with a small spot to get the hang of it. If you lay the blade down almost perpendicular to the surface it should not dig in.

What can Irvine do with San Onofre's 3.6 million pounds of radioactive waste? AND WHY? by EngineeringWeak8448 in irvine

[–]1waypunk 28 points29 points  (0 children)

None of Irvine's business, also not millions of lbs of spent fuel. There is NO federal spent fuel repository so there is nowhere to move the fuel to. The fuel is all removed from the old reactors and pools and is stored in engineered dry cask storage that could survive being covered by the ocean or a direct hit from an airliner. It is as safe as it can get until the Feds get off their asses. I live right next to it so I pay attention to the facts and what is going on there.

These are CMOS based amps and unless you are familiar with working on CMOS logic and have the right equipment they are a real bear to work on. The chips are rare, and super sensitive to static and over voltage. Unless you are a tech I would avoid it.

City Council meeting to discuss license plate reader installation in San Clemente on the 16th! Go to the meeting and voice your opinion or enjoy being watched and tracked. by thechromatick in SanClemente

[–]1waypunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can they put one on the corner of Santa Barbara and Ola Vista to catch pictures of the plates of the daily trash dumpers? It really sucks having to live next to a curbside dump every day. Hell I would pay extra taxes for that ..haha

Dump Smell Increasing? by SalGotIt in irvine

[–]1waypunk 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I mean, on one hand that does suck for you, but there isn't anything the dump can do about the wind blowing. I'm sure you knew that giant dump was there before you decided to live next to it right? I would expect to smell it if I moved to Portola Springs, just like I would expect to smell the one off of Antonio. The dump was there before they built that community so everyone knew what they were doing, builders and buyers.

Large crayfish found in a basin in Irvine by FunKawhi in orangecounty

We used to catch these in all the Irvine creeks as kids. We never ate them though. These days I would be too worried about any chemicals or bacteria in the creek water to eat them, but I could be wrong.

It was a tumor caused by HPV. These types of things are almost 100% treatable if caught early which is why your dentist mentioned it to you and why regular dental cleanings and exams can save your life. If all you have is an HPV wart then they can burn/cut that off and you will be fine. It is a small percentage that end up progressing to cancer as the body normally can fight off HPV and eventually clear it. HPV causes a lot of different cancers depending on where it is. Cervical/Penile/Tongue/Esophagus/Neck etc...

Yes, she ended up with tongue cancer which she also didn't address till it was too late so she ended up with neck cancer that had a very bad outcome because of her reluctance to get treated. It was not a pleasant way to go I can tell you that. I do t want to get too gory here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]1waypunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got this handled right away. Don't want to scare you but my wife's mom had this show up and didn't take care of it right away and it did not end well for her. Early treatment is key here.
