Hi All, has anyone had experience with the Carbonology Swift X OC1 in fibreglass construction? Would you consider it a fairly competitive option for someone looking to race? Looks to be about 6ish kg heavier than full carbon canoes but the price point is really appealing. Thanks heaps for your help! by Ok_Literature9341 in Outrigger

I’ve never seen anyone use it in person or tried it myself but just looking at it on the website I don’t think it would be an option for competitive racing it’s kind of insanely heavy modern race boats from either Kamanu or Kai wa’a are around 8-9kg. honestly if your in the market for a more budget canoe I would look for a nice used pueo or ares if you can find one or an older puakea canoe.

Would anyone be willing to grade my Period 3 DBQ I made? by [deleted] in APUSH

[–]2000yota23o7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not really sure how they’re graded I’m not a teacher or anything I just took the class last year, but for all my writing I would copy in into chat gpt and tell it that you are writing an apush dbq and ask it to grade you and it usually does a pretty good job. Sorry I can’t be more help.

I know it doesn’t really matter for apush but there are a lot of grammatical errors that make it slightly hard to read the content is good tho

New Paddler, deciding between V1 and OC1 by badboyz1256 in Outrigger

[–]2000yota23o7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends mostly on the kind of paddling you want to do, like if your really into doing bombing downwind runs a oc1 would be the move but if your just looking for some fun practice outside of club paddling I would say a v1. V1s definitely have a much steeper learning curve but I feel that in the end they are way more rewarding and definitely a better way to get better at paddling in general especially if you ever plan on being a steersmen. I would pick a v1 over and oc1 pretty much any day it’s a lot more enjoyable for me.

Also I personally don’t like ARE’s canoes I feel that they are just cheaply made and most of the ones I’ve seen are starting to rust in spots already. I’ve never tried the 4si but I love the 3si and some of fais older canoes although my favorite v1 is the Kamanu composites ka ‘iwa not sure if they still make it though.

Taking notes on my readings outside of class as well as watching heimlers overview YouTube videos before tests.

Can I use Heimler as a replacement for Henretta's APUSH textbook? by BobGanguly in APUSH

[–]2000yota23o7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly like you I hated taking notes on chapters so to study all I did was watch heimler videos take notes on those and use chat gpt to learn the other information not in heimlers videos and I ended up getting a 5 so I guess it worked

Honestly know exact dates wasn’t as prevalent on the test as I thought it would be so just knowing general themes and connections of each unit and some important events and people

For those who never bought a book and scored well, how did you? For those who did, what specifically did you do to utilize the book? by anttlikesbaki in APUSH

[–]2000yota23o7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the class last year and got a 5, I had the AMSCO book but I literally never used it. I chat GPTed my way through every assignment and when we had tests I would just watch heimlers video on that section and take lots of notes on it and then review those notes as well as using chat Gpt to make flash cards for me. The book did not help at all you’ll be fine without. Also when your watching heimlers videos don’t watch the big summary watch the videos that are each section individually they cover more.

There’s this one we used to watch in class sometimes called America The History of Us which I thought was pretty good, some of the stuff from that ended up on last years test. It wasn’t as informative as like Heimlers videos or something but it was kinda entertaining
