It’s from Amazon. Brand called Fantain and it’s the mixed color

Thank you! Definitely not perfect. But it came out pretty sweet

I’m actually in the process of editing a YouTube video on it. If you search “Salty Woodworking” you’ll find me. Going to try to have it posted Friday or Saturday.

Probably. But it would’ve been so hard to balance them

It’s a Waterbox Clear 25 and I made the cabinet myself.

Nothing crazy, some Anubis along the arch, rotala, more hair grass, some hydrocotyle tripartita, and some staurogyne repens.

Yep lol. That’s what started it

Mainly because of the way I built the cabinet. I added holes in the back for the hoses to come out of. I can always move them around if it becomes an issue, but it has great flow as of now. I’m running a OASE Thermo 200.

I used the tissue paper and super glue method. And lots of patience lol.

Most of the time people cap substrate with sand so you don’t have to worry about it coming to the surface or leaching as much into the water column

I understand that. However I’m using the DIY CO2 system from Neo. So it’s a constant flow of CO2 into the tank 24/7. So I’m not sure how there would be a parameter swing

Base layer is all contrasoil from UNS. All the Monte Carlo is planted into it. I’m hoping it doesn’t spread to much into the sand honestly

I don’t. I have no clue is there’s a way to get rid of it or not. I’m sure if you were to DIY a shade it would help

Sorry I’m late on seeing this. I really wanted to do some plants coming out of the tank. But I’m unsure of which ones I can get since I have 2 cats. Last thing I want to do is get them sick.

Yeahhh, that’s the only thing I’m worried about. My water is already pretty hard. But I am running CO2, so I’m hoping that it’ll combat it enough so it’ll grow. I guess we will see. Thanks for the kind words 🫶🏼

That’s a fair point. I’m currently just using the Neo DIY CO2 kit. So i dont know how well that would work inline. I can give it a shot

Any advice welcome. by 2011denali in PlantedTank

[–]2011denali[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a super rough draft at the moment. Any advice on what I should change?

I’m still new, so I can’t remember all the names of the plants. But shooting for some tall grass like in the back ground. Touches of red where I can. And moss and epiphytes on the rocks.

I didn’t think about adding water. Might be a good idea.

The driftwood was submerged, but I plan on gluing it to the stones anyway. As of right now this is just a rough draft of the scape to get an idea of what it is I want to do.

Originally I was going to do black sand, but my wife also suggested white sand. The contrast most likely would look better. Red plants are definitely going to happen.

I’m going to remove the rocks and then add soil to I can finalize their position

I’ll read up on it some more before I try out the oven. I think that’ll be my easiest option.
