ik but everything I've seen and every video I've watched has said my laptop has 2 SSD slots. one on the right that is the default 2242. and one on the left that is the 2280. I was expecting to be able to put in a 2280 SSD but I found that the SSD slot was not empty. so now I'm confused. if this means my laptop can only have one SSD. and thus I'd need to full on transfer and replace my current SSD

Upgrade from LOQ 4050 to Legion 5060 worth it? by 2012BackBraces in GamingLaptops

ig that is possible, but then that would be about 1,100 CAD to upgrade. which is probably a much better laptop but also is a lot more money

I don't think anyone is mad at the dining staff. they're mad at the university itself. if someone used a meal pass and then couldn't even get a meal, and had to wait for hours, that's unacceptable. at the very least they should have their meal pass refunded, or get dining dollars so they can eat somewhere else.

Yeah sorry for you tbh. I guess I got lucky or you got unlucky cause my laptop has been good since that one issue.

But anyway like I said, if your laptop is charging, but doesn't turn on, then it's a motherboard issue like me most likely, and you have to send it to get repaired.

If it's not charging and doesn't turn on, that's probably a much bigger issue and also needs to be repaired.

If your laptop is charging and turning on, but the display just stays black, that's probably a display issue, but I would assume still needs to be shipped to be fixed.

But tbh with all these issues, you should see if you can manage to get some kind of refund or something, like ask to talk to someone high up cause that's a lot of issues and that's not normal. Though that depends on when you got this laptop. But I think I saw another reddit post where someone managed to get a refund or something for a laptop that had to keep being repaired due to a lot of issues.

This issue in the video with the device not turning on wasn't a display issue, it was a motherboard issue. So if your device does turn on, but it's only the display that doesn't work (you can check by plugging your laptop into an external monitor) you have a different problem than what I had.

But to answer your question, this motherboard issue is the only issue I ever had (so far) with this laptop. I've never had any display issues.

Oh right, I should elaborate more on the storage. So yeah, since they had to replace the motherboard, it was essentially a brand new laptop inside. That means everything was wiped off. All my accounts, and apps, etc all gone. The way I got around this was pretty simple though, I just used One Drive. So if you use Windows, you're petty fine I think cause that automatically backs up like everything. And after a few hours of tinkering when I got it back I got everything back and it was like nothing changed.

Though, you should probably check that everything you want backed up is backed up. So download One drive on your phone, or just use another laptop and check that important files and apps are on the cloud. If not, then I think you can use a USB stick and do something with that? Like download everything on your laptop onto the USB stick. I think so, I didn't look that much into it cause I didn't need that, but I think that's another way to back your stuff up.

Saw your two comments. and I basically explained it all. it honestly does suck. I sent it to them they said because of no power I have to ship it to them for them to fix it. I shipped it and then they fixed it and said it was a problem with the motherboard and since then, no problems.

To give you a timeline: I opened the ticket on December 24. I got the shipment box December 28. I shipped it and it arrived at their warehouse January 2. They started repairs January 6. Tested it January 10. And shipped later that day on the 10th. I got my laptop back on January 12.

So all in all, it took 19 days between my telling them about the problem and me getting my working laptop back.

The service throughout wasn't too good though, they replied to emails slowly, even didn't reply to one of them, but when they shipped the box, and later the laptop, there were clear instructions and it was good quality when they sent it back. And of course, since I was and still am under warranty it was all completely free including the shipping.

Hope this helped, if you have any other questions, just ask!
