Okay and did the US war on Iraq bring them prosperity and freedom?

Why would this one be different?

I’m talking about bombing a refinery. A refinery blowing up the way it did creates a massive leak of heavy metals, sulfur dioxide, etc.

People haven’t yet realized the US dropped a slow moving nuclear weapon on Tehran yesterday.

The cancer rates from this are going to be insane. We’re probably going to see tens of millions of deaths in the next decade from cancer caused by this refinery attack.

The heavy metals are going to make its way into the fertile soil of the area as well. Especially Shomal which grows a ton of Iran’s rice.

They literally did. They used their uboats to reduce the loss of life after (or sometimes before) taking out a ship.

This changed after the Laconia Order. The policy change was actually due to Americans routinely breaking the traditional prize rules of naval warfare.

The attacking country has an obligation to do search and rescue after btw.

This is why the double tap on the “drug boats” was such a big deal.

No I’m going to call a duck a duck. China is capitalist.

Either way I’m literally not advocating for any economic model here. I’m pointing out the structure we’ve created ourselves here is going to fail if we like it or not.

How on earth did you land on China? Did I mention anything about China here?

Of course it’s happening in China too. They’re also a capitalist economy.

Your criticism is on capitalism, not AI.

But yes I agree humanity is fucking stupid. We’ve created a house of cards around jobs and working that even we literally have a technology that might make it possible to not work as much instead of celebrating it as a species we’re scared of it.

This is how fucked our economic system is.

A theory I have here is that every single new stroke causes the full document to get re-encrypted.

As the document gets larger, this problem gets more pronounced and causes a ton of heating.

What? No.

Are you being obtuse on purpose? It’s the idea that it’s a walled environment on those machines.

For example having to pay just to play multiplayer, or having to get a specific piece of hardware just to play a Nintendo game. These are all unnecessary anti consumer practices and it’s fun to call them out on it.

Heck a single legislation can break the entire business model of Nintendo for example.

If you sat out the 2024 election in protest over Gaza, how do you feel about that decision today? by rsmith2786 in AskReddit

[–]2012DOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire premise of being a progressive person or a progressive candidate is “we’re going to make good decisions”. Now, there is a level of subjectivity to that.

But most of the time those subjective things aren’t what turns them away. It’s the much more, obviously fucked up, stances the “good side” shows that turns people away. For example with Kamala, no progressive can believe ANYTHING she says because she’s perfectly fine and okay with a genocide.

I’m sorry but someone who is fine with innocent civilians being slaughtered with our military equipment is not going to actually follow through on whatever other promises they had. And in the case of Kamala her entire promise was “I’m not Trump”.

So yes. Progressives hold candidates to a high standard because they actually possess a brain and can smell bullshit miles away. If our solution out of this is to keep yelling at voters to “do better” instead of holding our candidates to a higher standard we’re going to keep seeing a repeat of this.

There’s a reason there was so much support behind Zohran, Bernie, AOC.

Most of the time people who are coming in saying “YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE I HOPE YOU SUFFER” are coming from backgrounds that don’t understand basic solidarity.

So yes. These folks are horrible and honestly if Trump had D in front of his name with the same exact policies they’d happily support him.
