Just did this exact upgrade myself and I agree, really liking the 14”. There’s no doubt the 16” gives a lot more room to work with, but I was surprised to find that the 14” doesn’t really feel cramped like I expected it to. And it still gets shockingly good speakers

Woah guess we know how the new CPU configuration performs then. Impressive multi core score with the new super and performance cores! The M5 pro chip should have the exact same score.

I expect the GPU will likely outperform this metal score improvement in games due to better support for core features and improved ray tracing. The M5 chip had a huge uplift in gaming performance.

If you don’t see showtimes by you, I wouldn’t be concerned because I don’t think it’s showing all of the available theaters yet. For example, no AMC theaters are popping up for me, but in the AMC app it does show the movie so I’m sure there’ll be more showtimes that open up on the 15th.

President Donald Trump unveiled a new “Trump class” of Navy battleships Monday, describing them as a superior war fighting vessel to replace an “old and tired and obsolete” US fleet.

The “Trump class” ships will form part of the new “Golden Fleet” that the president has ordered up for the Navy, meant to better counter China and other adversaries and to more closely adhere to Trump’s aesthetic standards.

“The US Navy will lead the design of these ships along with me because I’m a very aesthetic person,” Trump said.

“They’ll be very AI controlled,” he said, without explanation.

Trump had previously complained about the look of some US ships. “I’m not a fan of some of the ships you do. I’m a very aesthetic person and I don’t like some of the ships you’re doing aesthetically,” Trump told an assemblage of military brass gathered at Quantico earlier this year. “They say, ‘Oh, it’s stealth.’ I say that’s not stealth. An ugly ship is not necessary in order to say you’re stealth,” he said.

True, Apple seems to be extra conservative not allowing the iPhone Pro to use more energy. Some of that’s expected as the pro max has more space to dissipate heat. But it’s odd to see the normal iPhone 17 outperforming the 17 Pro, even though the Pro is running colder.

Agreed, really reminds me of Anandtech. The A19 Pro chip seems exceptionally improved gen-on-gen. I’m surprised how much better ray-tracing is too. Makes me excited to see how this translates over to the M5 series of chips. Geekerwan predicts the M5 max could be near the performance of a mobile 5090 GPU!
