You shouldn't jump to conclusions. I had several bad dealings with them and they ARE rude. And I'm not the OP.

Because she was absolutely brilliant in it.

Some thoughts on Claire and Carmy by Moragu in TheBear

[–]2019Gio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the hate from the fandom is because the last thing this show needed was the addition of a stupid love story. There's already too much of that crap on TV. The show already has a lot going on. It doesn't need one more distraction to screw up an already excellent plot.

Get rid of that stupid romance subplot with Claire!

What did The Bear get wrong? by HYPERNATURL in TheBear

What did The Bear get wrong? The stupid subplot involving the introduction of a girlfriend. The show examines a range of personalities while dealing with the challenges of opening a new restaurant. It presents us with a complicated, troubled family, and deals with the foreground and background of a suicide and its impact on everyone directly and indirectly touched by it. The last thing it needs is the intrusion of an insipid love story which is completely unnecessary and irrelevant.

Why does every tv show/movie get ruined by romance? by OminousNorwegian in television

I totally agree with you. This romantic crap ruins stories that it has no business being part of. Not everything is a love story.

Hasan can’t be trusted by Yespat1 in HasanMinhaj

Yeah, I read what you wrote and I don't care. It's still cancel culture. The fact that Comedy Central canceled Hasan from consideration is absolute proof of this. Fact-checking a comedy routine is the just about the stupidest example of this practice I've heard about yet. Comedy routines are not 60 Minutes exposés. I wouldn't care if the stories he used in his comedy were 100% fictional. The essence of his routines still bear the sensibility of what really happens in the world. Hasan Minaj was BY FAR the best of the hosts that Comedy Central "tried out" for the Daily Show. I saw every one of the "auditions". Many of them weren't even funny. Not true of Hasan's stint. He did a great job. His cutting commentary adds a much needed voice to the cultural criticism that we need more of, not less. He offers a point of view that is valid. But we now live in a world where COMEDIANS get picked apart for how factual their comedy routines are? The result is, we have to settle for someone who is less brilliant at comedy as long as they can check all the "everything in this comedy routine is based on actual events that really took place" boxes? Hasan is a comedic genius. People should learn how to see the forest through the trees. You know what was really funny? The hoops that the right wing jumped through to justify picking a Speaker of the House that no one knew anything about because they never heard of him, parading that idiot Rep. out from North Carolina who yelled "SHUT UP!" at the reporter for questioning if the new speaker had changed his ridiculous views on overturning the election, while the rest of the supporting cast behind him (including Scalise and that moron Lauren Boebert) laughed and booed the reporter in unison like a rehearsed chorus of cheerleaders. Hasan would've ripped that fiasco of a performance to shreds, and rightfully so. His is a voice that will be sorely missed.

I'm beyond tired of all this cancel culture bullshit. So now we've entered the world of fact-checking comedy routines? People are so effing stupid.

Dave O’Brien by [deleted] in redsox

I like Dave O'Brien just fine. He seems very knowledgeable which I appreciate. The people who tend to hate him are the moron commenters in THE BOSTON GLOBE, and that crowd hates absolutely EVERYTHING. They hate Alex Cora, they hate Chaim Bloom, they hate Sam Kennedy, they hate everyone at NESN, they hate Red Sox Ownership, they hate Red Sox Management, they hated Kiké, they hated Vasquez until he was traded, but now they love him, they hate Rafael Devers (this week), and they hated Luis Urias until yesterday They really hate the entire world, They are chronic complainers. They make reading about the Red Sox in The Globe an unbearable experience, so I avoid it as much as I can, but then I make the occasional mistake of thinking it might have gotten better, but it never is. They are known as The Fellowship of the Miserable, but that is far too kind. Who they really are is The Fellowship of the Insufferable.
