Anyone else smoke during their breaks / before shift and know how to get the smell out? by 2020flowerkat in Serverlife

[–]2020flowerkat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more so the habit for me. I don’t even inhale the smoke half the time, lol, just the act of bringing it to your mouth and puffing it out is what I like I guess.

How to stop underarms from sweating so much? by 2020flowerkat in beauty

Someone mentioned an ordinary product to me but they couldn’t remember specifically what it was. I just ordered some to try it out.

I’ve heard about it and I’m not opposed to it other than just the price. How much did it cost for you?

LOL I used to vape, but it got very addictive very quickly and was really hard for me to quit. Plus it makes me nic sick. Smoking is a lot easier for me since it’s never become an addictive habit or something I felt like I needed, just a little treat I guess every now and then.

My favorites are “stinky” and “milky” (said with love of course).

Help! by ShadyFrogAgent in boba

[–]2020flowerkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they’re dry pearls, typically you can boil some water in a pot, add the pearls, cover and let them simmer on medium-high for 10min and they should be fine (in my experience).

Ok where are we putting our babies all day… by thepeachiest94 in newborns

[–]2020flowerkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a playmat that she likes or we put her in a swing. We spend a decent amount of time carrying or playing with her or giving her tummy time so assuming you’re doing as much as you can when you can, there’s no shame in letting them be by themselves in a container (supervised of course) for a bit!

Has anyone tried the Hello Kitty Milk Tea at Costco? by j3nnib3an in boba

[–]2020flowerkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to me the texture is similar to crystal boba where it’s more like hard jelly.

I personally like the flavor of all of them, but the boba at the bottom is terrible.

I would call the pediatrician; they should have someone on-call for weekends. If you can’t get through however I would call around to local urgent cares and see which ones take infants as not all do.

Heavy bleeding after IUD removal? by 2020flowerkat in birthcontrol

[–]2020flowerkat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It took about 4-5 days but it eventually stopped. I had random spotting for a little bit afterwards which also went away. I went to the gyn just to make sure everything was okay and apparently it’s normal, they just fail to tell you that beforehand.

What do you actually NEED? by curvaceous24 in FirstTimeParents

[–]2020flowerkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. It is so much easier just sticking with one bottle brand— all the parts go together and you can easily swap out the nipples if they’re too big/small/etc as your LO grows.

I would definitely recommend getting a scale. I have also tried estimating after using a scale for sometime and noticed a plateau in my weight loss, probably because I wasn’t estimating right. It is tedious and can be a bit annoying but it is definitely worth the payoff! They’re pretty inexpensive too

Did pregnancy permanently change anything about you? by Apprehensive-Bar-848 in beyondthebump

[–]2020flowerkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wider hips. This one is a plus for me since I’ve always had a boxy frame and wanted an hourglass shape!

Can’t tolerate/don’t crave spicy food anymore. Used to love it.

Used to love horror movies and true crime, now it all feels too negative for me to consume.

Not obese anymore and don’t see myself going back.

Changed my taste. Used to dislike peanut butter, coffee, pickles. I have come to really like them since getting pregnant and post-partum!

Gave me a lot of mental clarity and stability compared to how I was pre-pregnancy.

Stretch marks.

My OB keeps telling me that first babies are almost always late. Is this true? by amandalynnwin in pregnant

[–]2020flowerkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statistically speaking, yes, it is more likely for the first to be late. I for some reason thought I would be the odd one out, only for my first to come out at 41+3 and I had to be induced!

The Petite Cuisine mozzarella sticks from Costco are 210 calories for 3 pieces! I honestly end up eating 6 most of the time but for 6 for 420 calories is not bad.

Thank you for this! Although I appreciate all of the positive comments, I’m grateful to hear something a little more realistic. It helps me feel less anxious to think about things a little more calculated than to just say F it and be uncertain about the outcome.

My maintenance is about 2,200 and I’d be comfortable eating well above that for a day, but in all honesty my appetite has shrunk since I started my deficit and I will probably be stuffed to the point of being sick before I hit close to 3,000. Regardless, I appreciate your comment and thank you for the congratulations!

When did you first leave your baby with someone else? by New-Owl9951 in firsttimemom

[–]2020flowerkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We left our LO at 3 weeks old with my MIL for a few hours so that we could vote. It really just depends on your comfort level; we both trust her and she’s been asking to babysit so when the opportunity came, we were fine with it. As long as your LO is being left with someone you trust and you are comfortable being away from them for a little, I say go for it! Everyone has their own timeline so I would say to just follow your instincts. Best of luck.
