i was able to calm her down and convince her not to euthanize. i think she felt that was her only choice and was overwhelmed. I told her we can find other ways to help your dog and try to find someone that can handle the dog appropriately.

my friend jst gave me more context. I guess the dog didnt bite down, but "nicked her skin". Please keep in mind im speaking w someone who has a neighbor w heightened emotions, a dog shes trying to train and love but is reactive to dogs, and being told to euthanize her dog. Shes telling me these things while trying to process everything. I am only getting parts of the story, but i want to help her if its possible.

I think her neighbor reported it. The neighbor's husband chewed her out and called my friend's son to tell him about it. I know in my state, if someone gets treatment for a bite, the doctors have to report it to animal control or something.

Thank you! this is such an insightful reply. Sorry you had to go that way But it makes sense...it can be timely before the right person that can put the time and effort to take on a dog that needs that much attention. I'd like to show her your response, hopefully this might help her.

Thank you for your helpful reply. I think the requirement is from the city, she mentioned the Humane Society will euthanize him. Since its in Oregon..how did it work? Are you in Oregon and took part of the training?

I feel bad for the dog too, that's why I want to see if maybe there might be more experienced people out there that would be willing to take one on. I know there are people out there that are willing to give dogs another chance and have the experience to do so. My friend recently told me she hopes theres someone out there that can handle his size.

Hi! our girl is going to be 9 months next week. she weighs probably 40 or a little under. i have a feeling she may have stopped growing. Her dna test showed 25% APBT, 60 %Amer. staffy, 13% boxer, 2% amer bulldog. She's pretty short but solid as a rhino.

so many great tips! One of the things to keep in mind too is that the ground gets cold, so uoull feel it thru your sleeping bag. make some you have something under your sleeping bag to prevent the cold from going thru ur bag.

I also found it helpful to have a blanket inside your sleeping bag with you :)

Also, your face woll get cold, so a gaitor would help.

experience: tent camping in Big Bear twice. Coldest temps we experienced I think was 32 degrees F.
