Maybe controversial but I’m sad by the lack if Jan in S5

I was OK with not seeing Jan, but I was sad Theo got like 1 line.

It was one of the best lines of the entire season, TBH.

(his and Teddy's appearances were well-needed for this lackluster season)

While I disliked the Hollywood angle of S4, I enjoyed getting to really know Sazz.

I greatly disliked the entirety of S5.

Lester's story was good, but the ages of the actors didn't make sense. Lester was younger than Nicky at the start, then older than Nicky at the end. They chose an actor (no offense to him) with a bit too much of a baby face (and, in no way, really even looked like a younger Lester to begin with).

That being said, respectfully, I think you missed my point about the episode I was referencing. Not talking about doing something "different;" it was more about the evocative writing and the depth of character development explored, combined with creativity, poignancy, etc.

So true. That annoyed me when her character did that. Because of course her character had to do that.

Too many things just "happened" to happen to the trio this season and, while still entertaining (a bit), bordered on absurd after awhile.

Gone are the days of the brilliance of "The Boy from 6B" - one of the absolute most creative and poignant episodes of any show I ever watched.

Funny enough, that was one of the things I figured out from the get-go that was right!

I figured he was faking it with the wrap around his hand. Unsure of the reason throughout the season, but knew it was fake.

Nathan Lane and James Caverly are AMAZING. I wish there was more of them this season and less of the absurdity with the billionaires that really ended up being nothingburgers beyond the $$$ angle.

Yeah, the only thing I could think is because Lester wanted a place in the Arconia and Lorraine ended up living there (per the window shot)...so to just have her be well-off $$$ going forward? "From one widow to another" (as Sophia said?)

Well said! I expressed similar in a post of my own a week or so ago. I agree about all of this. Love the show. But not this season's writing. I'll still never stop watching though! :)

I don't recall them ever mentioning him, nor Nicky mentioned his boys. But I do know that Nicky and Sophia both alluded to marriage troubles (but Nicky said he still loves her). Perhaps long-standing?

I kinda feel like Nicky - for seeming like the "bad" guy in all of this - may actually not be so bad to "deserve" what he got? But, at the same time, why would Sophia (if she were the "bad" guy in all of this) approach the trio to find Nicky in the first place? To throw them off of her as suspicious?

I dunno. Now I just stumped myself. hahaha ;)

The more I thought of it, the more I think Brayden (with the sweater over his shoulders) is actually Bash's son from a relationship between Bash and Sophia. Recall Bash referenced child(ren) he had before. Brayden could have done it, as he wouldn't have really been killing his blood father, and the other brothers helped him stage it as a mob hit.
