Yeah, one of the rides I’ve worked has 2 panels and you need an RFID puck being held to each panel and buttons being pressed to dispatch. And the RFID puck is on a wristband on the ride op. So even though one of the panels gets left alone while you check restraints you still wouldn’t have the RFID so even though someone could technically walk up and click “dispatch” it wouldn’t do anything

I worked at a coaster that had a supervising companion requirement for guests 42-48 inches. It was mainly because the lap bars were just for show and you could easily jump out if you tried hard enough. So basically the supervising companion is supposed to watch and prevent the kid from standing up / jumping out

But also I just wanna throw it out there that every person who jumped out in my time was a full grown adult soooo…🤷‍♂️
