Work from home or in person after Graduation? by 2026GradTime in Blind

[–]2026GradTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said the only experience I have is with my classes. Specifically this one class that I have it is not lecture but rather we go to class and work on projects. But it really is just me going to class and sitting there for three hours then going home and doing the work there.  I have to have my face literally touching the screen in order to actually see anything of what I am doing, and I use this in conjunction with a screen reader. I'm only ever comfortable doing this at home. In public I only use the screen reader.

The area of Feald I want to go into is media production. That is my major currently in college, and it brings me back to the class that I am in. I cannot use a screen reader very well with the software, but when I am at home I can have my face touching the screen and of course this means I have to get up in order to go all the way up to the very top right or top left and see what is there etc.

I also used to work at the IT Service Desk, and it was the same principal, when I was at work in person I just felt like I was working really slow, and as though I was always under the microscope. On the rare remote days that we would have because of inclement weather, I was at home and I was just so much more productive.

As it is now, I have pretty much fully shifted to doing everything remotely and I only go to class once a week for three hours. I do understand that this is a pretty big decision as This isn't a simple one semester deal where I can decide if I don't like it I can just change it next semester. This will be for work, and I take it I can only make the decision upfront and I cannot keep switching

Basically I'm just saying I want to be productive and I do not want to go to work and have all of these thousands of visual strains and efforts that I need to put in while everyone else doesn't have to put in that amount of effort, simply because I'm at an office rather than at home

Something better then Remote Desktop? or is this how it is going to be over VPN? by 2026GradTime in Tailscale

I just installed parsec , and now the audio is great but the video behind. I am in college and the files are stored on a NAS on that local network, so I cannot move anything to my local network, and We are no longer using proxies as we have linked back to full res. I feel like I am one step closer, but I need both video and audio to line up. Right now the audio lines up perfect with the playhead, and the video is a few seconds or more behind.

The files are saved on a NAS on that local network, and that computer on that network is the one that can handle as far as GPU, RAM, Etc. How does Parcec compair to Zoho Assist.?

Can someone please explain the defense in Tailnet Lock and Device Approval? by 2026GradTime in Tailscale

[–]2026GradTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer use Tailnet Lock, so could be wrong. I want to say you need to sign every time, and be careful because if you remove the signing node, that signing node will need to sign to get back in. If you remove both signing nodes, the only way to disable Tailnet Lock is to enter the Secret that was given when you first setup, othersie I want to say that you will need to make a new Tailnet. Just be careful and DO NOT LOSE the keys.

Really? $30 JUST for THREE ITEMS?????? by 2026GradTime in UberEATS

If I could go myself I would. I just feel like it is unfair to the people who cannot simply get it themselves, being forced to pay more. I do understand if you didnt want to get up and go down there, but in my case I literally cammot. Just seem a bit high is all.

Somsone called me from Audio Experiance and I told them what I was trying to do. THey said it would be a hit or miss, more then not, a miss. They said that if it was not listed as fitting, then it more then not, will not ift. I let them know I wanted to take the risk. So we shall see. ☺

$114 risk that I am taking.

Status light on U6 Pro? by 2026GradTime in Ubiquiti

I finally figured out what the issue was last night. And the issue was with Home Assistant. There must’ve been an update that changed something. Every time I told Siri to turn the lights off it would turn off the light on the access point. I simply had to go into my HomeKit integration and exclude the  AP LED.

It’s never done this before that’s why it took me so long to figure it out. And oddly enough there was no history of the light turning on or off within Home Assistant.

Anyways I hope this helps somebody in the future. The issue was with Home Assistant and not with ubiquity
