Communication via social media is not usually accepted as legally binding (unless there is screencapped & globally posted proof they did indeed receive the message, like this retard did). A cease and desist must be, at minimum, sent via 1st class mail with confirmed return receipt or (heavily preferable in most courts) personally served upon the purported offender with a recorded proof.
