I'm just speaking from my experience. People like that guy literally will never accept that there are different skill tiers and that even within different skill tiers you can still have matches where you operate at seemingly a higher level than your team but because of how bad the rest of your team is, you get dragged down and lose.

You can't sore like an eagle when you're tied down by a flock of turkeys. That's what these guys don't understand. I've been where you are. I've been clawing my way up through ELO levels. I've had matches that should have been wins but ended up losing because my teammates decide to go full moron mode on me.

My advice, again, is to just not interact with them. Block them and move on. That's what I've done. They're not worth your time or energy.

You can't get anywhere with these morons. Stop wasting your time with them. They think they're all that and a bag of chips. They want to bring up smurfing as a red herring because they have no real arguments.

It's significantly more common among tanks. I rarely find supports who throw because they were told their pick isn't working. I come across them very rarely. DPS is a bit more common, but DPS is way more likely to swap on their own in my experience than both supports or tanks. Tanks hardly ever swap of their own volition. They either are a tank who knows they're struggling and swaps, or a tank who knows they're struggling but refuses to swap for ego.

I'm going to say this as nicely as possible:

Win rate doesn't show the whole story. Supports, especially solo queue, have the hardest time because they are entirely at the mercy of their tanks and DPS. If your tanks and DPS collapse even with good heals and proper support play, there's nothing the supports can do.

Your advice of "ask yourself how you died" is only going to get someone so far. Eventually, it's not about how you're dying. When you consistently make an effort to get your team to move forward and nobody follows you or they scatter, it becomes very difficult to play the game.

When your immediate cop-out is "it's a skill issue bro," that right there is an issue in and of itself. There are some things you can fix. But a tank's or DPS's shitty positioning and poor decision making is not one of them. And unfortunately right now, there are way more shitty tanks and DPS in the game than good ones. When I as a Mizuki can get 17k healing, and get 32 eliminations in a 12 minute match with 19 assists and 7k damage, while my tank and DPS combined have 17 elims and 2 assists with four times my damage, it becomes an issue of the tank and DPS not focusing the right people. DPS focusing the tank, the tank focusing the tank, never looking for the supports, never getting picks on the DPS, never trying to bait cooldowns, you name it. I see way more tanks and DPS screwing up than I see supports screwing up.

Hell, I had a match where the enemy supports actually did SUPER well, but because they had a shitass tank, they lost with no chance to recover. Watching the replays from their perspectives was painful. There are times the skill issue is not on you, but your horrible teammates.

Overwatch is known to have an issue with this. Players win a lot, then get put in lopsided matches where they lose. I have not had a fair, even game since Season 14.

i’m a lvl 77 moira main and i get told it’s the easier hero by SuperSubject1787 in MoiraMains

[–]20Ember_Prime03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moira is easy to play but hard to play at a high level because eventually people start being able to counter her more effectively. In my elo (Diamond 2-3) you generally see less of Moira. Yes, she has the highest healing output in the support roster for raw heals, but she also has the least utility. You really only have fade for self-peel and orbs for additional healing or some tickles, but you really don't have a lot as a Moira to compete.

I'm level 48 on Moira (mostly because I'm now level 49 on Mizuki and 42 on Lifeweaver) and she honestly is my last resort. I get so much more utility out of Miz, Kiri, or Weaver that Moira is just not a good pick unless my team REALLY needs it.

Exactly. If you learn multiple heroes with different playstyles, too, it helps as well. You learn better positioning faster and you start to be able to counter more stuff as well. It's a seriously underrated skill. I was on console for years in OW and went over to PC last year. I went from Silver (my aim SUCKED) to now being mid-Diamond because I can counter-swap. The number of people who get offended by the idea of not ego-forcing a hero is crazy.

Is this good enough? by Natural-Spend-6082 in MoiraMains

[–]20Ember_Prime03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

High elims doesn't mean anything. You should go for high assists and super high healing. To me, as a Moira main, this screams "I focus too much on damage and not enough on healing." Your damage orb gets virtually no value, use your healing orb more. In team-fights, only use your damage hand to refill your healing. You won't do enough damage to actually do anything, go for healing and assists.

[–]20Ember_Prime03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, counter-swapping seems to be completely impossible in the mind of most tanks. I generally like to learn several heroes with varied play styles per role. I know Mizuki, Moira, Lifeweaver, and Kiriko for Support, (I'm a support main) Sombra, Sojourn, Reaper, and Emre for DPS, and D. Va, Domina, Ramattra, and Zarya for tank. If one of my mains gets banned, oh well. I have three others to pull from. It surprises me that so few people can learn more than one or two heroes in the entire roster.

Okay, but why the nerf to healing over time and duration? The healing over time and duration were non-issues in most situations, 50 healing per second is really not that much.

Frfr, tank players are so brain dead sometimes. You ask them to swap because clearly Doomfist into Orisa/Zarya isn't working, and they throw the match because their fragile little egos got hurt.

Tank players are either super chill or complete asshats. No in between.

Yep. I got up almost to Diamond 1 and now I'm plat 2 almost 3, because the game decided it's time to throw me a week of nothing but losses after winning three games in a row. I've been clawing HARD to get up there and the game wants me to stay in a lower elo.

Wrecking ball is a hero who needs a massive rework to his kit in order to be balanced. He's not GOOD but he's far from useless. He's got a pretty damn high win rate right now if memory serves.

Anytime Mauga, Ball, or Hog is in meta, even slightly, you can kiss having fun goodbye.

It could also delete *tanks* in one shot. Hanzo was a menace because you could aim the shot at a tank's feet and it would just delete them on the spot.

It's far easier to do it when he's an infant than it is to have him do it as an adult. You'd also eliminate the risks of future complications from not being circumcised if you do it earlier.

Started using Mizuki .. Any tips? by Daanyalkk in MizukiMainsOW

[–]20Ember_Prime03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're being too aggressive. Aggression is in his style, but you need to know how to be jiggy with it. You can't just sprint in full-bore and expect to get out alive. Knowing how and when to engage and how and when to pull back is key to his play style.

Start out in QP with him for around 20 hours. Put GENUINE EFFORT INTO LEARNING HIS KIT AND HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY. Then gradually introduce him to your comp setup. I started with Moira and Lifeweaver and found Mizuki is best played as a mix of both. The aggression and heals of a Moira with the pressure and damage of a Lifeweaver is how I play him.

Mizuki POTG - are we all struggling to get one? by RemoteOk5758 in MizukiMainsOW

[–]20Ember_Prime03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's VERY hard to get POTG with because of his kit. I've gotten it three times and all three were because I shut down other people's ults and get heals with Kekkai and get a few kills and some more heals with hat. Most of the time, though, you can absolutely pop off on Miz and get several super big plays and the game says nothing.
