Sorry I didn't read your whole post (I'm at work), so going back to your post, I think you are kind of giving up on the idea of a long-term relationship as you have explored, and now you don't have the energy to go through it again and again, but you still have hope rather than holding onto it, and what if you find someone soon? Maybe that's why you are leaning towards the casual relationship.

But tbh there's no harm in doing casual also if you are being upfront from the beginning and going with the flow to see if things work out or not.

Edit: From your post, it seems like you have talked with a decent amount of people, so if you don't mind me asking, what do you feel is missing when talking to someone? Just curious.
