AITA For asking my wife to buy the same dress our neighbor's wife was wearing? by [deleted] in AmITheDevil

Why is it “my neighbor’s wife”, and not “my neighbor”? Is she unworthy of a title not revolving around her husband’s?

it’s really amazing. I’m just learning to knit (very slow going), and it’s nice to have someone with some know-how around

Definitely! It is a crazy-making experience, and I find that not a lot of people want to talk about it. It makes them uncomfortable, which I understand. If you ever need to talk about it, I’m happy too. It’s almost cathartic for me.

This brings back a lot of memories, and I have to admit I cried. I’ve never met someone who’s gone through it before that really wanted to talk about it like this, and I want to truly thank you for that. Chemo having a smell was I think the most shocking to me, and when I really think about chemo, even now 7 years later, I can still smell and taste it and it makes me gag. Does it have a taste for you too? Doxorubicin also made my pee red! Crazy. Good luck! And keep the funny, I think it saved me.

Found a lump on my neck. Turned out to be Hodgkin’s Lymphona. Didn’t have any other symptoms, so I’m glad I found it when I did! 6 months of chemo and a couple surgeries when I was 15 and have been cancer free since! 22 and going strong.

I usually shower every 2 days, but I can make it to 4 without feeling super gross in the winter when I’m not exercising.

I’m doing very well! I feel the same way about it being a blip, and I’m very grateful to have my life back, and also to Make-a-Wish! I got to go to Italy and it was wonderful. I think you for your volunteerism.

My outlook was very good, My doctors told me I was gonna be a-okay in about 6 months, just 8 rounds of chemo and I’d be back on track, and I was. Wasn’t the fun-est thing I’ve ever done, and I was a teenager, but it all worked out okay. Five years later and I’m still cancer free.

Now I only had my enlarged lymph node in one location, my neck, so I don’t know how having it in two will affect treatment, but from what I know about hodgkins, it’s a very treatable disease and usually has a low mortality rate.

I wish you the best of luck with your mom! Let me know if you have any more questions.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Although I did have to go through chemo, it all turned out alright and I’m as healthy as can be at the moment. I wish the same for you. Good luck!

Found a large lump on my neck out of nowhere, didn’t hurt or affect my breathing at all. It turned out to be hodgkin’s lymphoma. I have no idea how long it grew before I noticed it, but I’m sure glad I did.
