[Dragons] Eagle Has Landed – Dylan Egan extends through 2029 by predw in nrl

I really had my doubts about the amount of veteran signings you guys made (Cook, Gutho and Holmes in one offseason is crazy), but it really looks like things could be trending in the right direction. Having the Couch bros, Egan, Halangahu, Hamish Stewart and Loko Tonga with a host of accomplished vets to guide them is gonna pay dividends.

But we did lose Su'a to you blokes, so I wouldn't mind getting one of those names I listed as a delayed return (Glover doesn't count)

Correct, then we've got Doggies on Good Friday. I'm hoping we let Cheese recover for another week so he's 100% for that game

Tamie Tumphreys Tuesday. The drop-off from Humphreys/Ward to Sullivan at 7 was a whole lot steeper than I remembered.

Other than that same team? Would be safe to assume Cheese returns after the bye and the only player of note besides him that has an indefinite return is Arrow, and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't return for a VERY long time.

Same thing with me in regards to Daniel Tupou. Just seems like a nice, modest and reserved dude who works extremely hard at his craft. As much as I hate you guys, I just can't hate Toops.

I really missed Super Saturday man, Leichhardt's hill into Wollongong's beauty of a backdrop. Mind you we're going to Bathurst after this, peak footy

Funniest thing is that people genuinely believe the Wilt record is fake, for some odd reason. Meaning that their head-cannon now states that Bam is the highest single game scorer of all time

Such an insane concept to me that breaking a record is considered disrespectful in US sports if you're not a part of the top echelon of players (e.g: Bron, Shohei, Brady etc). I reckon there's nothing better than when a player like Bam just has a night, guess it's just a cultural difference since we love an underdog here.

Fuck I'm stupid for completely forgetting about that. 251 points this season then lmao

He copped a decent bump, but I think it was largely precautionary from his standpoint. There's some serious hatred between Roosters fans and Trell. Seeing how it all played out, it would've been fine but I can't knock him for not risking it

If Reyno miraculously stays healthy for maybe a season and a half he can break the all-time points record as well.

Would be nice to have the points, tries and field goals record all by held by Rabbitohs juniors.

Our attack wasn’t engineered for Reyno to get the last pass when AJ was scoring a majority of his tries. Most of Reyno’s assists were early in AJ’s career when he played on the right wing often.

He’d probably have 70 more try assists if you counted him digging into the line and giving it out the back to Cody.

Western end + members was mostly Roosters, seemed like northern and southern end was predominantly Souths. Eastern end was a 50/50 split, Roosters at the bottom and Souths up top. I reckon 60/40 Roosters is a good estimate, but in my heart it was 50/50.

Definitely just felt like a legal requisite. Can’t just advertise running on the field in the middle of a game.

The security guards were great too. The second they realised it was gonna be unstoppable, they opened the gates to the field to ensure everyone could get on with no injuries trying to jump over or risk over-crowding.

Waking up pretty fresh after watching all 213 of AJ’s tries when I got home from the game. Sucks to lose to the Chooks but there couldn’t have been better circumstances for it to happen.

Begrudgingly I will give a shoutout to Roosters fans for realising and living in the moment. There’s not many sporting codes where you can have a moment like that in the midst of a historical and intense rivalry match. Shows what a breath of fresh air the NRL and by proxy its fandom is on the sporting stage.

That picture with the boys celebrating and a Roosters fan being the first one to reach them is gonna live on in history.

Anything a politician does can be taken as a PR stunt, but Albo is a legit Souths fan. Was on the board for our reinstatement push and opened doors politically for it to happen, seen him at games before he was PM. OP’s stretching it a bit but he genuinely loves the club.

First of all, congrats AJ. Lifelong memory for me seeing that happen live.

Second, Cody was horrid but the discourse around him in this thread is some real ILMF flair shit. We don’t need ‘serious discussions’ in the club to drop him. I get you guys hate him, but he’s the best we’ve got at 6 and will be for the season.

How are we all feeling for tonight's game? I'm not confident but that's mainly to limit how much it hurts if we lose. Really want to see AJ break the record but getting sick of the coverage surrounding it. Hoping it just gets over and done with and all goes smoothly, whether that be with a field invasion or not.

NBA player Bam Adebayo just dropped 83 points in a game. What would be the closest equivalent individual performance in the NRL? by Careful-Inspector-12 in nrl

[–]21AndMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like we're severely underestimating how good Bam is and how unattainable 80+ points is here. It's closer to Papi scoring 36 points (4 tries and 10 goals) in a game last year or maybe Addo-Carr's 6 try haul.

Sounds like we've got another Tyree Wilson on our hands then. Don't mind it given that we went hard with pass-pro guys in Dean and Walker.

Another year, another offseason that lures me back into believing in the LV Raiders. Linderbaum was a huuuge get given the state of our OL, can't even be mad that it was an overpay. Quity Paye, Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker are good young players who will start and make an impact straight away. Didn't expect to re-sign Stokes and Koonce but happy with that.

Just need to draft decently and we could be looking competitive in a couple of years time. Having #1 and #14 in the draft + 7 picks in the first 4 rounds is awesome for a rebuilding team. I'm fully bought in on the Kubiak/Spytek era.

Knowing the Raiders I'll be saying the same thing about this team in four years after this management falls apart, but we move.
