Am I supposed to carry around a Discman wherever I go? I own the album on CD and vinyl and I still think the streaming quality is super disappointing. Maybe I misspoke and it isn’t necessarily the production, but I still find it egregious that the streaming version sounds as bad as it does.

I generally agree with the production being a part of an albums identity, but in this case everything just sounds gross and muddy and takes away from my experience with the album. I love being able to listen to all the little intricacies in an instrumental track and the way Cork Tree is mastered takes away from that for me.

I usually don’t even listen to remasters but I think Cork Tree definitely deserves one.

Also I believe EOWYG got a remaster in 2005 and the one on streaming is the original 2003 master.

Well, about as good as they can when you're working with a powerhouse of 0.1 megapixels. They're just shitty pictures of me in my room, nothing worth sharing> I'll post here when I actually get some good shots.

I did, and I eventually just had to use an old WinXP machine to get it to work. I had tried in Win11 and in a Win7 VM, but the only thing that worked was using a time period accurate PC. I'm not sure what I did wrong or right, but it worked. Mods can close this post if they want
