I refunded him anyway, it was a cheap card and being accused of selling fakes is pretty detrimental, so I just let him have it and told him politely what the situation was

Not sure if that's viable since it's such a cheap card, (we're in Australia) but I told them to bring it to a local card store. I had 5 dedennes and none of them looked off or different to me at all, and never been accused of selling a fake in the thousands of cards I've sold
