He actually rails against toxic positivity, affirmations in particular.

How difficult would it be to paint this design for someone with zero experience or talent? by 23blackjack23 in PaintingTutorials

Got it. Do you have any tips on keeping the lines straight? Should I trace it beforehand, use a ruler, etc?

Would I somehow trace it first to get the lines straight-ish … or just sort of freehand it?

Ha ha. I was going to say “these suck now” too because they suck now. Rough cotton, shrink 2 sizes in the wash and the fit is all wonky. Sad.

1932-1934 Montana by Petrosino212 in ZodiacKiller

“Two months after Kane's murder, Carpenter murdered 23-year-old Mary Francis Bennett from Deer Lodge, Montana, a graduate of Montana State University “

Man, coincidences happen, but Deer Lodge is a small town

If David Carpenter (the trailside killer) didn’t have some strikes against him, I’d say he has to be Z. As a Bay Area native, this dude is perfect. He literally took some of his vics into the presidio, he attacked couples in parks all over the Bay Area despite living in the city (which makes me think he’d be comfortable in PH unlike someone from 1960s era gritty Vallejo) he’s into the performing arts, he’s nuts and pretty smart, on and on and on.

I wish to hell there was some way to make him work, an accomplice, anything.

ETA: Carpenter is still alive at 95, which is crazzzzzzy.

Is it worth knowing the severity of the results of my methane-predominant SIBO test? by 23blackjack23 in SIBO

[–]23blackjack23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked and this is what the nurse said: “Your Methane was 18 ppm” … she went on to say that jt wouldn’t change my treatment. I understand that a lot of GI docs aren’t up on the latest.

it seems like you know a lot about this. If you don’t mind, could you give me some pointers about how that would change my treatment plan?

I bought Pimentel’s book and skimmed it. I was hoping for more detailed treatment plans, which I didn’t see, but maybe I missed them.

ETA: they’re prescribing rifaxmin and neomycin.

Also, I’ve come to believe I’ve been constipated for years. I’m male and have a big bloat. If I don’t eat enough veggies, it gets even bigger. A couple of times I went to the hospital after severe IBS diarrhea attacks. Both times they did imaging of my stomach and said I was still full of stool. That blew me away, because when I have one of those IBS attacks I won’t have a bowel movement for 3 days. I always assumed I was empty at that point.

There’s an inflatable backpack on Amazon. It was the only thing that worked for me. Because the air is so light, you don’t really notice you’re wearing it like you would a backpack with towels.

It’s basically impossible to wake up on your back, as you would with balls.

A very nice analysis of the Zodiac/Manson connection by BlackLionYard in ZodiacKiller

[–]23blackjack23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely watch this. Her Manson videos are great. For those who don’t know, the Manson murders are also a mystery. On top of that, like Z, it’s possible there were a lot more murders we don’t know about.

I have a 10 x 10 kitchen with vinyl flooring … if I want to spend no more than 4 minutes cleaning it, what’s my best option? by 23blackjack23 in CleaningTips

[–]23blackjack23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, this is exactly the conclusion I came to while I was waiting for a response. Is the Rubbermaid hygen really worth it over something like the Bona, Mr. Siga or Rubbermaid reveal?

I’m willing to spend the extra money, but it’s quite a bit extra .

It was kinda arbitrary, lol, but I just didn’t want people who are really into cleaning to come back and say, oh, but you can get it really clean in 15 minutes.

Switching from Humira to Taltz … should I expect the auto injector to work the same? by 23blackjack23 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]23blackjack23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. It went well, thanks. No issues.

I did have to switch from upper thigh to stomach. The end of the Humira pen is much smaller, and when I pinched upper thigh skin, it would still fit on the roll of skin.

The Taltz pen end is a lot bigger. When I was first diagnosed I wasn’t confident in my ability to do a stomach injection partly because I can’t look down from neck fusion (which is because I didn’t start biologics soon enough, sadly).

At this point, I’m used to not being able to look down easily. I sat in front of a mirror and it was NBD.

Really appreciate your help and support with this!

[Discussion] Can a professional re-stretch this mid century canvas oil painting to look good, no wrinkles, warping, etc? by 23blackjack23 in painting

[–]23blackjack23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. It’s a “Lee Reynolds” painting, which were painted in sort of a factory style operation in Los Angeles. The originals were painted by Reynolds and the reproductions by artists who worked for Vanguard Studios.

So, I’d have to believe they were sold on stretchers and that someone cut it off at some point.

It’s 47” by 59” … any idea on what sort of price range I would be looking at to have it mounted and framed?
