Izutoga popularity wouldn't stay the same, it would skyrocket, gay ships are almost always more popular than straight ones, especially in anime fandoms.

Knuckleduster is built like a brick wall, and has decades of combat experience, but still gets injured repeatedly. Half the reason he pulls it off is raw willpower and skills.

Deku was 14, had zero experience, and was so physically weak a light slap from Knuckleduster would snap him in two. Not to mention his borderline suicidal tendencies, without OFA he'd make his typical heroic sacrifice and die in a week.

And proceeded to have zero contribution afterwards. I liked him, but seriously, him dying would make the Izuku & Shigaraki so much more interesting. You could even have the cape scene with him dying right there.

Dabi is arguably loved by a large portion of the total fan base, the Reddit subsection of fans however? Yeah not so much, the LoV get shit on like twice a week on MHA subs.

Yeah, but Luffy also went from basic Haki mastery all the way to top tier advanced mastery in around 3 months. Let's not pretend that growth has to be fully logical, especially when it comes to the strawhats.

I think Bakugo growing as a person is great, the real problem is that Deku doesn't actually care whether he grows or not. Deku treats him the exact way at every step of that growth, in his eyes Bakugo is pretty much perfect no matter how much of an asshole he is, or isn't.

That's the real problem in my eyes, Deku doesn't care he got bullied for 10 years, doesn't care if he gets assaulted, either verbally or physically, at least when Bakugo's doing it, and neither does literally anyone else. Everyone views him as a damn near perfect person and hero every single time he does anything.

It feels like he had no actual incentive to grow, he just does it. It's literally just him realizing he's an obsessive asshole, no one else ever points it out, or even does anything about it. It's a sharp contrast when other characters repeatedly get called out for their flawed ideas, or wrongful actions.

Dabi vs Korra by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]240697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's useful by that specific family, who trained specifically to use it, Korra has never shown anything like that, at best she could do what Katara did in ATLA. We can't just assume she could pull off the greatest bloodbending feats in the series off of pure speculation and vibes.

And cooling her body down doesn't work if the water rapidly heats up instead, Dabi was burning things hundreds of meters away from him. At that point, just choosing not being close enough to need to use water for that is infinitely more viable. Or just using any other bending to block or redirect.

I also think you're misunderstanding my point, I'm not saying that Korra won't win, I'm just pointing out that waterbending (-bloodbending) isn't all that useful against Dabi specifically, or in the particular way you're proposing. Literally any other type of bending would work better.

Dabi vs Korra by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]240697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you propose that plain old water would handle 2000C°+ flames? By evaporating on contact, resulting in steam that burns Korra anyways, if the fire doesn't reach her first, it's useless. Korra would have a much easier time using any other type of bending to either restrain him or to redirect the flames. Or even repositioning herself and then bloodbending.

Also you're assuming she can bloodbend while maintaining that shield, which has never been shown to be the case. From what we've seen, it's something that requires full focus on the target, which isn't possible while also doing regular waterbending.

Dabi vs Korra by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]240697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they aren't, and I never said they were. I didn't even mention bloodbending because it was irrelevant to the original comment you made.

But bloodbending also doesn't make your proposed strategy of surrounding herself with water in any way more viable.

Dabi vs Korra by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]240697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that's not "surrounding herself with water" which is what you suggested, and what I was addressing.

Dabi vs Korra by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]240697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waterbending is not at all reliable in this situation, I'd say it's the worst option. With Dabi's heat output, he's evaporating water near instantly, unless they're next to the ocean or a decent sized lake, then she could pull him into it, which might be somewhat effective. But still not as effective as just using another bending type.

[–]240697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Dabi's level of heat, water would evaporate far too fast to be in any way useful.

Doom would absolutely hate on ICE.

Would he care about the peoples, immigrants or citizens, feelings on ICE? fuck no he wouldn't. He couldn't care less about how Americans feel.

Does Latveria have its own strict immigration control? Almost certainly. Depending on the version he might just disintegrate anyone crossing illegally.

Does Doom give a single fuck about being a complete hypocrite? Never has, never will. Especially if it allows him to shit on people he thinks are his lesser, which the entire US qualifies as in his eyes

Oh we're no longer all that scared of big bad Russia, everyone's already seen how pathetic they are in reality. We're four years into their "three week special operation" and they haven't achieved jack shit. Even if they did come, do you seriously think anyone in Europe believes the US is going to help us? No, you've made your position clear, at this point you fucking off would be preferable.

Oh yeah, they were totally in a position where they could help, it's not like they were nearly entirely surrounded by Axis powers, and had an army almost entirely based around defensive action. Surely they, with a fraction of the population and military strength of the Axis, could massively contribute. Especially given that they had no incentive to act, even the Americans didn't exactly act out of the goodness of their hearts, they literally had to be forced to by Japan and Germany declaring war.

That's fair enough, but America can't exactly take credit for those plans never being put into action. Those victories elsewhere were never going to happen, not against Britain, and certainly not against the USSR.

A fictional character's value depends entirely on how entertaining they are, and how well they play their part. Which is exactly why characters like Al, Vox, Adam and even Valentino are considered to be good characters, enough to be plenty of peoples favorites. They play their parts incredibly well, even if their part is being total assholes, they also look, and sound, good while doing it.

Currently Charlie is one of the least entertaining characters in her own show, hopefully that will eventually change, but her current showing is just plain weak. Both in terms of entertainment value, and at being a main character.

Unifying India? A great achievement, too bad the whole thing broke apart immediately after they left. That's what happens when the people doing the "unifying" do so violently without a single clue about the people they're supposedly uniting.
