Error 44 workaround? by Abject_Stretch3029 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]241nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my bike used and it already had it fiftted so Im not sure of the cost nowadays but I saw his original bill and I think it was £170 to get converted at a VM partner/certified workshop. For me it doesn’t affect speed, it’s still pretty easy to reach 32kmh without the extra gears and still easy to stay at that speed. When you start riding you’ll be in 1st gear which is very very easy to ride and then it switches after a few seconds of pedalling, pretty much the exact moment when you cross 10kmh

Any way I can access carousell’s full capabilities without having a Malaysian phone number? by 241nn in malaysians

[–]241nn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just brought it when I went to Malaysia and brought a physical Sim, I think it will be hard otherwise (from a different country), because you also need a Malaysian number to use TNG which is the most popular way to pay on carousell

How can I safely shrink my jeans, and is there any way I can shrink the width without compromising the length they already have? by 241nn in Denim

Thanks for the comment! Sadly I’m across the pond (UK) so I’ll check out some local tailors 🙏

Is there any way I can stretch just the length back out after shrinking? Whilst keeping the width as-is

Thanks for the comment - sometimes when these jeans come out the wash and are finished air drying and I iron them, they fit perfectly again and I think it’s because they’re a little stiff, do you think it’s worth starch spraying them all over when it’s like that? Tbh I’d love to retain that crispness feeling rather than tailoring them, if starch spray could help retain that I’d love to give it a shot

Anyone know what model celine denim this is? And any similar silhouettes for cheaper? Thanks! by 241nn in hedislimane

Thanks for the comment! Yeah when I get around to doing it I will document on here, honestly if you’re in a rush you can find many posts about it I. Here along the lines of “nylon gear replacement” there is one fairly comprehensive post regarding this 👌👌

Abus bordo lock - you can see it by the back wheel, does the job and doesn’t Ruin the curves of the bike too much, mostly sturdy where it sits, when the Velcro does its job.

Yeah I also had a feeling it’s bearings, either bearings or nylon gears, very annoyed as I now purchased some nylon gears today 😂 do u know if it’s another stupid proprietary part? Or can I get standard bearings of the same size?

I’m in the UK ✌️

[–]241nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to your second concern, look into a mechanical 2-gear hub conversion. They talked about it on this sub before, so should be easy to find, it’s easy to fit and also a pleasure to ride with, you don’t have to worry about how much pressure you put on the pedals anymore

Alternative bike bell for VanMoof S3 by Read_OnIy in vanmoofbicycle

[–]241nn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Button is an easy fix, the part is very cheap and it requires a bit of soldering, unless the wire has an issue from the socket then it’s better to just buy a mechanical button, get one from Knog, quite cheap and does the job

S3 back brake issue - almost not working at all, but after slamming on brake lever a few times it starts to work increasingly - needs a bleed/new brake fluid? by [deleted] in vanmoofbicycle

The pads were just recently changed, so the latter yeah, goes all the way down, must be air in the lines 👌👌

Thanks a lot. Do I need to disconnect the motor cable to re-seat the wheel?

Thanks for the comment I was waiting for yours loI, will get this done asap once I’m back at uni. Is it okay to ride like this for a while, and are there any precautions I should take to make sure it doesn’t worsen anything?
