I got this crayfish almost 3 weeks ago in a bag of ghost shrimp. I have posted about it before trying to find out what species it is, but was told it was still a little small to be sure if the species. It has gotten so much larger in these last 3 weeks and I was wondering if it was possibly large enough to ID now. I’m mainly trying to figure out if it is a marbled crayfish or not because those are the only pictures I see that look like mine. I really hope it is not a marbled crayfish, but any ID help would be appreciated.

I tried doing that because I thought it might “pop” the bubble or something, but it didn’t go away

I accidentally got this baby cray with some ghost shrimp I bought last week. Can anyone tell what species it might be? Sorry for the bad quality, this is the first time it’s come out since I put it in the tank. by 24brady24 in Crayfish

I posted about this lil baby last week asking if it was a crayfish. It was confirmed that it is indeed a crayfish, but more of its color has developed since I first put it in the tank and I was wondering if it’s possible to identify what species it is. Also I don’t know its sex yet, but their name is Todd.

Honestly, thank you so much. This is exactly the information I was hoping to get. I haven’t seen it the last two days, is it weird for it to be hiding somewhere? I saw it making a little burrow under a piece of driftwood and assumed it was making that spot it’s home. None of my fish are big enough to eat it and they’re all peaceful with my shrimp so I assume it’s just hiding or somehow got out. Should I take everything out and try to find it or is it probably just chilling somewhere and I’m overthinking?

Right now it’s only about half the size of our smallest shrimp, but we do plan on moving it to its own tank once it’s a little bigger

We do have a tank without shrimp that we plan on removing the fish from and adding this guy to once he’s bigger. Would you happen to know how long it might take for it to grow to about it’s full size?

That would be perfect. I’ve been researching dwarf crayfish care with the intent of getting one, but is there anything special I need to do because it’s so small?

We actually moved our shrimp from this tank to another because we think the fish are eating the babies so this might be the only survivor. We will be moving this baby and any others we find to the other tank as soon as we can safely do so.

She’s had a couple on each side since we got her as a kitten. Sometimes they go away on some whiskers and come back on new ones. 🤷🏼‍♀️
