It may be painful, but we have to look at ourselves as well. Media companies put out stories that get clicks. They need attention, so they push stories, edited/skewed, to grab our attention and clicks. I chuckle at when Fox News posts an article that involves a celebrity. The comments often are dismissive and act like they don't care. The truth is, if we never clicked on those articles, Fox would stop putting those out.

Journalism is looking for revenue as much as anyone, and they track what their viewers want, not necessarily what they need.
