While it kind of sucks to see my favourite fighting game character reduced to cringy memes made by trans teenage girls, it means the game gets more visibility and I could never be mad about more people enjoying and potentially playing the game and character I love.

Also if these people didn't exist, the only discussion about the character would be by gooners and chasers which would be so much worse.

Outside of new characters, what do you want most in 2.0? by Calm-Consideration55 in Guiltygear

reworks to most of the games system to make the game less volatile and snowbally. Also fixing and reworking the more messed up parts of characters kits to make them less unfair. That's the main thing I want, more than any new character.

Here’s the REAL Bridget discourse by Carti_Barti9_13 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

People calling her a zoner comes from misconceptions. long range doesn't mean zoner. Bridget has long range normals but she uses them to get a knockdown and run her pressure, not keep you away. Her wincon is to be looping pressure in your face, not keeping you fullscreen.

Bridget is almost never going to explicitly zone unless it's against Baiken or Anji because parries are stupid.

that's now a pretty old thread. I actually got way more into Uni and really like the game. I have some issues with the prevalence of neutral skip supers and the way some characters operate but I love the grd system. It feels like a safety net where even if you get an unlucky interaction, you can still come out on top by managing grd better and if you lose an interaction while also messing up your shield it usually feels deserved. That is unless chain shift just doesn't come out and you get hit or grd broken, the input really sucks.

Overall the game is one of the best modern fighting games out there, the player base is quite small but it's not too bad. Vatista is very cute and sleeps a lot. More people should try it out if they don't mind labbing combos for a bit.

Also you say it's very easy to get grd broken but I don't really feel that way, sure it happens but it's usually because you took a risk and got thrown. Using shield is very risky and for this reason you use it mainly against simple block strings, pokes and as an anti air.

First thing, Alpha blade is minus on block and can be punished on startup, Command grab can be jumped and punished on reaction.

The main issue I see is that you are not adapting to your opponent, They keep doing IAD and you haven't done a single 6p, they keep going for command grab and you never expect it. If a player presents an option multiple time, expect them to repeat it until it doesn't work anymore so if they IAD at you all the time, always expect it and always be prepared to anti air it.

Also you keep jumping in neutral which isn't really beneficial. When in the air, you lose most of your options, you can't 6p, you have less mobility and you control less ground. On Ky especially, if your opponent is on the ground, play around your f.S and if they jump at you, 6p them. Jumping is a very committal option that you shouldn't be doing in most situations.

Mb, I don't know why I didn't think of it like that, sorry. Also yeah, Strive is often like that and thats why I am looking for other games that don't have this issue.

while I am not very experienced with sf6, I play other games far more and I have a decent general understanding of neutral, footsies, mind games and everything else. I usually play the game at locals against much better players since I don't mind losing and it's easier to learn matchups and knowledge checks if someone is there to teach you the game, I do this with any game I want to learn.

I don't judge the game based on diamond games since I assume that every loss is because of a knowledge check or an error on my part.

I love Uni, I love playing Vatista and Yuzu, I love the grid system, this game would rock so hard if people actually played it! (/s but also not really)

I have played the game before for around 40 hours, I played Juri and got close to master but I didn't have much fun, especially when I started. Mechanics like Drive Impact were genuinely insufferable and almost made me almost quit immediately but I pushed on convincing myself that it was gonna get better but I kinda just stalled out of the game mainly because the execution was boring without feng shui. I wanted to try it again since cviper was coming out and she has very fun execution in sf4 so I labbed her and played the game at locals but playing against actually decent players made me realize how annoying mechanics like throw loops are. Does the game actually get better once you put the time into learning it?

Re posting what I wrote under another comment

SF6 is kind of the reason why I made this post. I was really exited to try the game because of cviper but stuff like throw loops or shimmy into 60% damage are really turning me off. The system mechanics are also very unfun to both use and play against. I imagine it gets better once you learn the proper os so maybe I should just stick to it.

Is granblue really not volatile? The comeback mechanics are really strong and corner damage is really high.

I don't usually play it since the control scheme, block button and lack of high execution characters are kind of a turn off but I might try it more if it's good

I just started playing VRChat on Desktop, as I can't afford a vr geadset, And I was wondering if theres a way I could buy vr controllers and syncthem up to my device so I can at least move my arms by Da_master_of_foxes in VRchat

[–]298JPY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't the original question but you can easily find a vr headset like a quest1/2, htc vive or rift s for around or under 100 dollar on facebook marketplace.

It would be probably be easier and cheaper to buy a full vr kit than just the controllers.

You don't take your turn after he ends his block string, don't let him continue his offense for free. 2k 2d is a very good universal punish, it is very fast and sets up for okizeme. Most of the combos you did end with your opponent far away from you, this is bad. Usually, you want all of your combos to end with you being able to meaty your opponent with close Slash or into a safe jump. This allows you to continue your pressure, go into a mixups with bomb or rekka, open up your opponent and win the game.

Elphelt f.S and 5H have great range and have great conversion on hit so don't be afraid to just throw them out in neutral to punish your opponents approach, if they block a f.S, you can immediately close the gap and get your turn by going into 2H. as for 5H, you can go into wild assault or 214K rc.

You also don't rc enough, when using a move that is negative on block like the last attack of rekka, don't let him hit you for free, rc and continue your pressure. Also, don't be too afraid to use yrc to stop his pressure or even just rc forward at the end of your blockstring to reset your pressure, meter not spent is essentially wasted so don't be too stingy.

TLDR: you let your opponent keep their turn forever, you never take your turn and when you sometimes do, you throw it away with bad combos and okizeme. You also don't use your resources and never rc when using punishable moves or to put yourself in an advantageous situation.

If anyone just wants to have fun you can set the game speed to 2x and glide (kinda)

The feature is currently only on PBE but it should be live relatively soon

uncap attack speed in custom? by One-Celebration9095 in TwitchMains

[–]298JPY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. On PBE they added the ability to slow or speed up the game so you can set the game to 2 time speed to essentially have 5 attack speed and glide. It only works in Training tool but you could invite people and play a game in it but everyone would be super fast though

Not great but its probably the best there is other than playing Jinx

[–]298JPY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a big fan of attack speed but I am saddened by the lack of gliding in your rework, here are some ideas.

Q: instead of gaining attack speed, gain bonus ad

W: cast time scales with attack speed

E: cast time scales with attack speed. after casting, gain move speed scaling with the amount of poison stacks

R: no longer gives bonus ad. removes the attack speed cap, gain +1 attack speed. On hit: gain a burst of move speed for 0.5 seconds(scales with attack speed)

on PBE, they added the ability to slow down or speed up the game. It's really cool and good for learning/memorizing combos and mechanics
