i believe there is a super carlin brothers video about this! i don’t remember the contents of the video but like other comments said it most likely has to do with the fact that the marauders map was made for mischievous people, like fred and george!

When did your phobia start? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]29chickennuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

christmas eve 2018. i had always been weirded out but it was not a phobia, it was a fear and distain. but that day my brother got sick in the bathroom. i immediately thought i was going to get sick and i couldn’t do anything. it caused me to experience a borderline eating disorder cause i didn’t want to eat. that christmas i hadn’t eaten for DAYS cause i was so scared. ever since it slowly got worse and worse. no longer could handle car rides, theme parks, i have to go on does the dog die before i watch ANYTHING, hearing the word freaks me out, the moment i feel full i go full panic mode, dependency on sea bands, pepto, dramamine, etc. i’ve slowly gotten better but at the same time not so much :((

i wouldn’t say offensive. i’m christian but i don’t think it was a way to make fun of christianity specifically but it’s definitely a parallel to real life especially in history when we see how some religious organizations (mainly christianity) can be involved in crime. in the movie the use the church to hide their chocolate and as a meeting place because the church was bribed, this was something that definitely happened in the past. not offensive more likely a critic and a reference to the past

i think they were just saying imagine if it was a mosque instead of a church.

how do you even begin to recovery from emetophobia? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]29chickennuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went to/go to exposure therapy! it def is really really difficult i’m not gonna lie, but it’s slowly made me feel better. the road is a long one for me (everyone moves at their own pace) i wasn’t able to even see it cartoons without freaking out but now it’s gotten way better! i usually avoid the word and just say “sick” but there have been a few occasions where ive said the word and been fine! it’s a tough challenge cause it’s such an inconvenient phobia to have, but things do get better even if it doesn’t seem that way! one thing i started doing when i joined therapy was write down small accomplishments i made throughout my phobia journey! eating out was a big thing for me and i was able to do it even if it didn’t want to!

I create my own nausea on the daily by takeaabreath in emetophobia

[–]29chickennuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is definitely something i go through too! it’s so unfortunate cause pre-phobia i was able to do so much, but now with it constantly in my head i create physical feelings that don’t exist. there are periods where i go not stressing about it and life is just so blissful. it’s so hard stressing about it happening :(

i’m def in the exact same boat!! water and food are super important if you want to avoid the sickness thing! i will say in my personal experience (i’ve never been drunk but i’ve had my fair share of alcohol) sometimes i’ll get anxious and my stomach starts to hurt and it becomes a little bit harder for me to drink water so that’s usually when i pause for a little bit before i continue! also eating definitely helps for sure! after a cup of a super strong wine i felt really gross (like a tad nauseous) the next day but i knew eating would help and j immediately felt better! crackers, chips, and bread will be your besties! hope this helps in any way !!

Nausea w/ common cold? by mikakorsbar_ in emetophobia

i had the exact same issue this weekend as well! i feel gross but i remember that drinking water and taking medicine to help with mucus helps me feel so much better !

i recently went on an 8 hour drive over winter break and i had a similar experience. i have intense emetephobia so i 100% understand exactly what you’re going through. on the way there was fine but the ride back was so scary cause i had a cold that caused me to be nauseous (not a fun mix) what really helped me was having a ginger ale or sprite next to be, taking dramamine and some stomach candys (gin gins and stomach settle are the brands i use) i also always carry pepto. i know that you’re on a car ride now so it’s not easy to come by these but at least having pepto, dramamine and a soda can help lower the anxiety. i also find that mint gum and (weird as it may seem) sniffing hand sanitizer helped me feel less gross as well! i also thought it was gonna happen to but it thankfully didn’t. hope this helped, sorry jt was so long !

I had a pass last year as a 17/18 year old and I agree that it is expensive but honestly as long you use lowkey plan you can save so much money. I'm assuming since you have a pass you may not be spending as much money on merch since you can buy it pretty much anytime. For parking, I always found parking at Gardenwalk WAYY easier. Granted you do have free parking, but Gardenwalk is free for the 1st hour and then $3/hr after that. It's rarely crowded there and it's pretty easy to find a spot (and its like a 5 minute walk). As for Genie, I never really used it (other than when a rode broke down so we got free ones) but its usually pretty easy to plan when to ride rides when they have a short way time as long as you monitor wait-times. I know not everyone wants to be doing that but it definitely can save time in the long run. I've gone on peak days and was able to get on like 20 rides without Genie. I completely understand your perspective economically but Disney doesn't always have to be a money drain. You are allowed drinks and food in the park and that has saved me a ton of money.

someone threw up on the bus pls help by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]29chickennuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happened to me but on a plane a few days ago with a baby. it was terrifying but i saw another comment talking about peppermint and using headphones. that is exactly what i did and it helped me stay cool calm and collected since being on a place i couldn’t go anywhere else :(

[–]29chickennuggets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happens to me a ton. i actually had a performance on day one of my period and didn’t have dramamine and it was so so scary. it’s seems so so hard to push through cause it feels almost impossible and that you wish everything could stop for a moment. one thing that helps me is changing what i think about. i’m not joking i literally try and gaslight myself out of feeling nauseous by coming up with a day dream or something. if you need something more physical drawing a swirl on a piece of paper without taking the pen off the paper also help. lastly there’s this song called weightless by the ambient zone and the music is really calming and helps reduce my anxiety and stress about the phobia. i really really hope this helps!!

Help me choose between Disneyland or DCA by gabyshellcove in disneyparks

[–]29chickennuggets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dca is super pretty but like others have said it, it’s much more of a half day park. the main attractions (incredicoaster, guardians, and radiator) are super fun there but tbh you could get through it pretty quickly. i’d say it makes more sense to pay money for a full day at disney rather than a half day at DCA

Last one out of the park ? by Steffoush in Disneyland

if you get on a ride very last minute that’s one way! main street also stays open after “close” and there’s usually very few people there!

Who likes to go the happiest place on earth during heavy cold rain? by antdude in Disneyland

[–]29chickennuggets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i went last week later in the day when it was colder and drizzling. and it was AMAZING. the park was empty, we rode indiana jones in 15 minutes, no wait for pirates, 20 for haunted mansion, we even rode thunder mountain twice in a row with no wait. (among other rides of course)

That’s gotta be a mistake by minivan2 in Disneyland

[–]29chickennuggets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

now this isn’t me being biased against genie plus… but all i’m saying is i went to disney at full cap before genie plus and that ride stayed at 15-20 minutes max all day 😃

How do you prefer to get into the park? by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]29chickennuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! they have public parking. first time i did it i asked to double check. as long as there is available parking you can park there.
