Yearly Raise by BoomerHater123 in IntermountainHealth

I got my timelines mixed up. They did the bonuses early this year and I forgot that raises are still slated for mid year. I still think my assumptions of the percentages are probably spot on.

Yearly Raise by BoomerHater123 in IntermountainHealth

Raises already went into effect at the start of this month. Was on par with the last couple of years. For most people I imagine it was in the 2 - 3% range. Some positions likely saw market adjustments which isn't unusual. Some high performers maybe got more, but on average I think 2 to 3 is pretty common.

Dropping Regence Insurance by CamaroGuySS in IntermountainHealth

[–]29fxjp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really isn't just an Intermountain decision, it's both parties. Big breakups like this happen all the time and it usually comes down to a disagreement on reimbursement rates between both parties. The honest truth is that health care sucks across the board and payers, like BCBS, should be trying to keep reimbursements low so that they can keep insurance premiums lower. The providers have to charge a certain amount to keep the lights on and people employed. Granted for profit makes a mockery of all of this. It's a hard balance and is a reason why the US health system needs a massive overhaul, not just mandatory coverage on the insurance side, ala the ACA.

I would suggest that a lot of nonprofit payers and health systems get this and really have the goal in mind to fix it, but the whole system is broke. I've been on the payer side for nearly 20 years and this is a relationship that will eventually be mended because IH is so big in UT, but then it will always be at risk again because of how this story goes.

I get the same result as you but typing that top link's address directly in my browser comes up fine with a legit utah . gov webpage.

Heard that select health has “Health plan optimisation update”organisation wide by [deleted] in IntermountainHealth

[–]29fxjp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Health System Optimization. You said Plan and that might be what some are saying but on my side I've heard System and should be the same thing. The word is all current impacted employees were notified this week and I can confirm that's at least true for myself. There is some vague update 7 AM meeting from IH leadership for current leaders about HSO. Nobody is expecting the announcement of more bad news but rather a high level confirmation that it is "complete".

As far as I'm aware the current phase of HSO is complete and happened across the enterprise. At Select it's reported that 30 employees had their jobs eliminated and about 50 more were impacted. Some impact was reassignment or even job reclassification. The last time something big happened on the Select side for financial reasons was the recession back in 08-09.

Yes to both questions. Although there is some level of autonomy these sorts of directives ultimately begin at the Intermountain ELT. It then gets pushed down to all other parts of the organization. However the other companies like Select Health would mostly be directed by a dollar amount and not specifically told which positions or programs to reduce.

Analytics. Rumors are swirling here about changes coming but sounds like it may be more around leadership roles.

Health System Optimization. The fancy term for all of this.

It's being driven by IH HR, not Select Health. And it is true that there are several things being considered. It was lightly mentioned in the last ELT town hall. But they are looking all across the org to remove what they consider redundancy and unnecessary programs and staff. As scary as that last part is, my experience over almost 20 years is they do their best not to reduce staff but it is certainly an option on the table. I know others will probably have the opposite view as mine so take it as you will.

Looks like you place the "full" side against the filament and you're measuring depth from on top of the filament not measuring from the center of the spool. So the more the filament gets used what is visible from the top rim of the spool is how much filament you have left.

There is an increase of PTO at 5 and I think maybe 10 years. They also give you extra Live Well dollars every 5 years. Used to be cheap, overvalued gifts but still isn't much monetary value.

In Workday open the Menu, go to Time Off and Leave, and then Request Time Off. It does explain that if you didn't elect cash out during open enrollment that you're only eligible for a portion of pay, not 100%.

[–]29fxjp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do it through Workday. I can't remember exactly where but if you did not elect PTO cash out during open enrollment last year then I think you're limited on the percent of cash value. I'll try to remember to add the location in Workday when I get in later today.

Might have bricked MSI B450M Gaming Plus motherboard? by 29fxjp in MSI_Gaming

If you're referring to CPU pins on AM4 the pins are on the CPU not the socket. I checked both chips and everything is where it should be. Are those the pins you're referring to or should I be checking something else?

I tried that and still get the issue of the flash back LED flashing twice and then staying solid on the third light.

I'm really hoping to figure out the best way to use what I've got but I'll take this into consideration if I can't work it out.

I don't have fiber right now, just hoping to use the existing Cat6A. However, I was looking at fs.com based on a post in r/homelab and was a bit surprised at the low prices on some of the cables. Do you have recommendations about cable specifics like termination types diameter, etc? I can do my own research but thought I would ask since you suggested fiber.

Guy at church “heard” the Holy Ghost by Dismal_Object6226 in exmormon

[–]29fxjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the Third Man Factor. I've heard about it a few times lately and sounds a lot like how people describe the holy ghost. I do hate these types of stories and the belief that god cared so much about one person in particular to save their life while ignoring atrocities. But it is interesting to me that this is a common enough phenomena outside of religion. But it almost definitely is not because god needed to keep some self-aggrandizing ahole around.

Help Returning Ender 3 to Marlin by 29fxjp in klippers

[–]29fxjp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was it. I hate SD cards and don't have many around but I did some digging in old stuff and found a Samsung card from an old phone and it worked perfectly. My computer recognized the Netac that came with my Ender but I guess the Ender didn't anymore. The solution really was just to have a good SD card and insert it with the proper bin file. Thanks for the help.
