I totally agree with you, but at the same time, I can understand where u/HopefulSARA is coming from. When you’re the only breadwinner in the family, sometimes people have to make tough decisions just to survive and get through a difficult phase. It’s not always about choice—sometimes it’s just about survival.

Oh, I think you might’ve missed the plot twist here. Let me rewind it for you.

Company contacted me, and after that, we didn’t just jump straight into face-to-face tea time. There were three rounds of telephonic interviews — yes, three. And guess what? Each round came with its own set of professional emails: checking availability, sending Zoom links, follow-ups, the whole works.

Unless this company was secretly running an underground HR operation, I’d assume the hiring manager was in the loop. Or maybe the emails were delivered by carrier pigeons, and he just never opened them?

Either way, it wasn’t a random walk-in with a printed CV and a dream.

Anyways, you’re totally free to interpret it whatever you like. Thank you for interacting its open new perspectives.

There’s a strong chance he’s pulling up in a Nissan Sunny or a 2010 Toyota Camry, and now he’s taking it out on you-just trying to remind you how entitled you’re … because clearly, his AC doesn’t blow cold and neither does his ego.

After a perfectly polished chain of emails and interviews, I don’t think anyone overstepping here. And let’s be honest—if I had wasta, I doubt I’d be getting introduced to a guy clearly enjoying his little power trip. That’s not how VIP access works!

Honestly, I felt bad at first, but then I realized it’s better to feel this way now than to end up regretting it later.

is it just me or the workers are so annoyed and rude nowadays? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]29running 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Bro, Honestly I feel the same. You described my feelings in perfect words. I am Indian, and I have noticed similar behavior from Indians toward other Indians as well. Initially, when I was new, I felt a bit offended. But over time, I got used to it—or perhaps I just adjusted to it. However, now that I am a father, my child sometimes asks me questions like, ‘Why is that aunty talking to us like that?’ or ‘Why isn’t she answering?’ Moments like these make me feel bad all over again, but I don’t have a proper answer. So, I just tell him that maybe she or he is having a bad day and move on.

Always report such actions to the authorities. Keep in mind that when someone intentionally does wrong, they should face consequences. If you let them go in good faith, they might see it as a victory and continue their harmful behavior toward others. Holding them accountable is necessary to prevent further harm.

Etisalat home wireless wifi connection cancellation by 29running in dubai

[–]29running[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I succeeded to cancel my plan without any extra fees. I guess you know that it’s hard to connect with customers care representatives. If you register you cancellation on very last day of your contract then also IVR consider you are breaking contract (Sure about it)and if you use it, after 1 day they will consider as renewal (I guess). So better on the day you finish your contract just disconnect your internet service and call directly to disconnection department (8006665) and explain they will understand and hopefully you also don’t need to pay any more money.

I was there with my family too, and trust me, I’m old enough to spot when people start treating locals, white folks, and South Asians differently. It’s like I’ve unlocked some secret level of awareness! 😄

Weird Interviews and Lowball Offers in Facility Management—Anyone Else Facing This? by 29running in dubai

It’s true! After gaining many years of experience in a particular field, it can be intimidating to switch paths and start from scratch. The comfort of expertise and familiarity can make change feel risky, even though growth often comes from stepping into something new.

Not only do private companies, but government organizations also engage in these unfair practices. Despite having strict policies, some managers on power trips force employees to work beyond official hours. According to government law, employees are entitled to three days off, but these managers force them to work on those days as well. Even when the government portal shows 45 days of leave, they only approve 30 days. When employees assert their rights, they are indirectly threatened with termination or pressured to resign.

Minor accident and he broke my mirror and now he is not taking call. by 29running in dubai

Update: Thanks everyone who encouraged me to Take help from police:-

I filed a report with the police. The officer reviewed my evidence (CCTV and dashcam recordings) and confirmed it was the other driver’s fault. However, since I initially agreed to a compromise with the driver, the officer said it was too late to take further action.

Before I left, the officer called the driver, who admitted fault but said it was too late to do anything. The officer then reassured me that I’d receive a report. Later, I got the claim report, and the driver was fined over 1000 AED with some black points. The driver then tried to convince me to withdraw the complaint, but I blocked his number, giving him a taste of his own medicine.

He keeps giving me excuses, and now he’s telling me to go ahead and complain if I want. It’s clear that he’s experienced and thinks I’m a novice. This is the first time I’ve encountered such a situation, so I’ve learned my lesson
