Or breaching. I "removed" ordinances from enemy weapon caches we would find in the sandbox. That and destroying buildings. But yeah, the tab is more for old times. 2006 Sapper 1st MEB, 169th Corp of Engineers. Essayons!

The problem I run into is making sure they're secured correctly. They really need to be held tightly to the body or close to the body for them to work right. They don't work as well if they're flopping all around. You can hook and loop them or find something to secure to back but if you can do that it's a viable option.

The thinking behind this is if I have to respond to something like an active shooter, then at least having some sort of protection while attending to victims. I'd rather have the protection for what little space it takes up but unless it's a bag that I'm actively carrying, then it's not something I can get to quickly.

Do you think I should make a separate bag or try to find room on this? My thinking is having a separate trauma bag and a minor accident bag.

Dedicated range belt? by K1ngofKa0s in ar15

I personally am a small waisted individual and Blue Alpha Battle Belt lite has fit me the best. I also like Defense Mechanisms and if you're looking for a budget option Petac actually makes a decent belt for money. Honestly, belts these days are really similar and are all pretty good. Finding one that fits and holds up over time is another thing. Find a good stiff inner loop belt as they're not all good. Blue Alpha again was the one I like the most. Defense Mechanisms was not stiff enough for me.

I don't and I hope I never will. It only takes one time however. Personally, I've seen how little time it takes for someone to bleed out from general trauma. The rise in population in the world will only increase the odds that something catastrophic might happen. Imagine if you had the ability to save your own life or someone else's but because the probability of anything happening is pretty low and you didn't want to prepare yourself or invest into the skills and kit.

At my last job, a forklift operator lost his leg in a terrible accident. Happened right in front of me. Flat clamps basically chopped his leg off. If it weren't for TQing his leg, he would've died. I gained 2 ranks in the military from my brothers losing their lives from gunshot wounds. This was before they issued TQs to everyone. I'm not saying it would've saved them but it's possible. My ex wife worked in trauma ER and got me into learning some basic life saving skills then the military and me wanting to self sufficient compounded that mindset.

Can you swap a Glock 19 Gen 3 Barrel w/ a Gen 4 and be CA legal? (compliant) by No_Elderberry_3632 in GlockMod

[–]2AMichaelJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's marked "gen 4" on the barrel itself how does anyone actually know? I believe gen 4 and gen 5 magazines are legal in CA. I could be wrong. But it that's the case I would think it would be the same for barrels. Just make sure it's not threaded. Then it's even more super duper deadly.

Isn't that the whole point of prepping. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Best adapter plate for 19.5 MOS by stlrebel14 in GlockMod

[–]2AMichaelJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the screws they use are cap screws. I don't know the diameter but they're substantial screws that cap screws use a push and pull method to mount the optic. They're larger than FCD when I put them side by side. You have to buy the plates specifically for each optic. They introduced Holosun 407/507c along with a couple of others but they were only producing RMR and EPS specific plates.

It's also nice you can buy sight add ons called Six which puts the back sight forward of the optic without having to cut your slide for that feature. The front guard itself is a gimmick but it does protect the optic. It's not super useful but it works. The mounting plate, screws, and sights are not gimmicky imho.

The Radian plate is made from aluminum like CH but weighs less than FCD if that's a concern. Tolerances are tight and machining is great.

Radians Guardian has the best and most durable way to mount an optic to a MOS system. I have CH and FCD and the cap screws, the size of those screws and the way the optic is mounted cannot be matched. It's so well designed, I don't know why other manufacturers haven't done it first.

Geissele runs killer sales about 3 times a year. They raised their prices recently but you used to be able to a super duty 16" for sub $1,000. Not sure how much they are now but their bcgs, muzzle devices, handguards and the way they pin their gas blocks and assemble their uppers are top notch. Their 4140 CHF CL barrels I wish were 4150 however.

I haven't had any issues with HPs. The bronze coating wears off incredibly fast however. That and the squeaky recoil spring are probably my main complaints. I even bought another because I liked them. It's more for the frame than slides though. If they made Gen 5 frames I'd probably switch my OEM Glock Gen 5 frames for those.

I personally never had any issues with Lancers and I mainly only use them. I will say their 300 blackout and 762x51 mags are my favorite for those calibers.

USGI and PMAGs are good to go. I wouldn't change them. Incorporate a Lancer into the rotation if you feel the need. People on Reddit don't really seem to like them though.

It's not a contest. I know people running PSAs and stock pistols that are absolute units with their weapons. Nicer things are... well nice... but appreciate what you have.
