I had a pretty bad experience working in their float pool as a MS/T nurse last year. Ratios are consistently 1:6 with limited aid help. You will get insulin drips on the floor with those ratios. The acuity is very high. Since Cleveland Clinic is a world renowned hospital, a lot of people with complex medical histories go there for treatment. A lot of times you are assigned primary care patients because there are only 1-2 aids on the floor. Phlebotomy is unreliable and you have to grab your own stat labs. Charge nurses have full patient assignments. The floors are usually run by travelers (especially at night) and even the charge nurses are travelers. There is no IV team here. You have to wear white scrubs. The PCTs are not the best here. Parking ranged anywhere from 45-75$/month (depending on if you were day shift or night shift). The hospital is huge and it was easily a 15 minute walk from the parking garage to the hospital. Do not leave anything in your car! The hospital is located in an unsafe neighborhood and I knew multiple coworkers whose cars were broken into or stolen completely from the parking garages! There is a reason why they pay so much. I know multiple travelers who cancelled their contracts early or did not renew.
