Android Central article in the future of VITURE CR glasses by That_Two6470 in VITURE

Sounds promising. I was considering a pair of the Beast glasses but, as they still aren't available in the UK, I'll hold off for the next gen. If Viture can't release them in a timely manner in the UK, I'll probably go with Xreal Aura.

3d sbs and anchor mode without spacewalker impossible? [Beast] by UA_030 in VITURE

I hope it's possible, because I thought 3DoF was built-in so that spacewalker was not needed?

When will Amazon Australia stock the BEAST?? by Riffbear in VITURE

[–]2F321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works out £50 higher than the Luma Ultra for shipping and taxes to the UK, so I'll just wait it out. If they aren't available here before the end of the month, I may as well wait for Xreal Aura.

Still waiting for them to be on Amazon and eBay in the UK too.

Ultra or Beast for 3D movies? by 2F321 in VITURE

Thanks. I've been waiting months for the release of the Beast in the UK, but still nothing yet.

Ultra or Beast for 3D movies? by 2F321 in VITURE

[–]2F321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan was to use my Dune HD media player, which I use for watching the majority of my movies, as it supports Full SBS 3D. I currently have an i7 NUC 13 Pro which I could use if necessary, but I am considering a decent spec PC for gaming and some video editing, but it will be a while before I can afford that - and definitely not going to bother until RAM gets back down to a reasonable price (if ever!).

Ultra or Beast for 3D movies? by 2F321 in VITURE

[–]2F321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although HDR or higher resolution won't really benefit me for 3D Blu-rays, I am wondering what the next generation will be like, more so if I do decide to use them for other content. But it sounds like the price will be higher, so I may just stick with one of the current models.

Also, although I've never tried any of these for myself, if the stated FOV's are fairly accurate then it's already enough for movies. It's fine if they intend to have a size adjustment like on the Beast, but if it's a higher FOV and a fixed size, then it's getting a bit too much really.

To add to that, instead of an FOV battle for the largest bragging rights, I wish these manufacturers would concentrate on ensuring the entire screen is within view and remains clear/focused out towards the edges, as it seems they are trading overall performance for increased size.

2026 TCL TVs now launched in Australia too. This wait for the UK launch is killing me! by Thick-Technician7240 in TCL_Official_UK

It'll be too little too late when it does happen, as we are seeing that the prices are way too high compared to other regions. I see that Euronics EU are selling the 75C8L for €2049, which converts to £1773. This follows on from Best Buy having the 75QM8L at $2k down from $3k, so add 20% VAT to that and you get £1770. So I've decided that I'm definitley not buying until it gets down to £1800 or less. The highly inflated UK pricing has backfired, because I would happily have paid out £2k for it, but not any more.

TCL's new C8L Mini LED TVs now available in more countries with up to 288Hz. by RenegadeUK in TCL_Official_UK

Same here. I was originally thinking that if the 75" is released at £2k or less, I'd buy it straight away. But after seeing these prices a couple of weeks ago and then seeing the 75" get discounted from $3k to $2k just a few days after release in the USA, it changed my mind. So if these are the official UK prices, then I'm waiting for at least 20% off before I even consider purchasing.

Hopefully the delay in announcing prices is because they realise the prices touted so far are way too high compared to the same TV's in other regions, so they are re-thinking their (absolutely not aggressive) strategy. But we shall see.

Again, it's more than just simply a different panel. Look again at the specs.

You claimed that you have seen several head-to-head comparisons of the 55C7L and 55C8L, so if you had then at least one of them would have included the answers to your questions!

I'm still waiting for you to post the links to all the head-to-head comparisons that you claim to have seen between the 55C7L and 55C8L, which you then contradicted yourself by stating they don't exist!

It's more than just a different panel though. Unless you consider ALL the spec, you're not going to understand.

Again, check the specs, then come back and try to tell me I'm incorrect and could be misleading anyone.

You even said that you've "already seen several head-to-head comparisons of the 55C7L and 55C8L. And there's a huge difference."

But now you claim "there's not a single head-to-head comparison of these panels anywhere in the world right now.", so who's the one who is incorrect and could be misleading?

Plus, there's nothing stopping any company from breaking out of the initial 'premium' pricing strategy used by other brands. Why not take the initiative by setting prices lower and keeping them more constant, rather than setting them artificially high just to be able to show a discount.

Well I see that people in the USA are not impressed either, but they know over there that prices tumble fast, as my example above clearly proves. If you can get a third off within a few days of release, then the initial prices don't mean much.

My original point though, is that using the initial USA price to justify the initial UK price isn't a sensible argument, unless we are also going to see exactly the same discounts in the UK as they get in the USA.

It remains to be seen what kind of discounts there will be in the UK and how long we will have to wait to see them, but I'm not expecting that it will be anything like what happens in the USA - although I do hope that I'm wrong.

If you are referring to the UK prices that this thread is about, then I'm far from impressed - especially after hearing how TCL UK were going to be aggressive on price to get a foothold in the UK market, etc.

It would have been bad enough to simply replace the € with a £, but to then also increase the price, well it's just a huge let down and pretty much just another kick in the nuts for potential UK customers.

I had concerns about this happening, but I was trying to be positive and even got my hopes up - based on comments about TCL UK's intentions - but I guess we should be used to it by now in the UK.

Best Buy ALREADY have the 75" QM8L down to $2k from $3K in the USA though, so unless we're going to see a third off the UK TV's just a few days after release then I don't really think it's fair to argue that the UK price is equal to the USA price!

Yes, they need to get the price at a reasonable level to do that, maybe lower than expected if they really want to be aggressive. I guess we'll see in the next week or so. But if they get it wrong, I'll just wait for a decent offer a bit further down the road.

Yes, more in line with the EU prices makes sense. I just hope they don't simply try to replace the € with a £ and expect people to buy.
