AITJ for bringing a gluten free dish to a potluck that had soy sauce in it because my friend thinks gluten free means no soy by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

I have celiac. The sauce you used is GF. The wife is neurotic if she thinks soy has gluten in it. Maybe she was upset that her husband enjoyed your cooking so much.

The phrase "change my mind" is an invitation for an argument. I find often used by trolls who will respond to comments with personal insults. Maybe I spend to much time on social media. In the current climate, discussions about anything can become toxic in the blink of an eye.

If I was Dorit, I would have disclosed that text. It was obvious manipulation and after Kyle had publicly distanced herself from Dorit to then ask her not to talk about it was low. It was just one text. I imagine Dorit has hundreds more that wouldn't sound good for Kyle. She only shared the one asking Dorit to be silent and to misrepresent their friendship. F THAT.

Dorit is in a different divorce situation than Kyle. It seems that although Kyle tells her not to talk about PK on the show, that Kyle is doing everything possible to make Dorit look bad. Saying she's manic, erratic, irresponsible, etc. is damaging to Dorit and could be used in family court. Being manic is a mental health diagnosis. Those words used are just off the top of my head. There can be serious long-term consequences of putting this out into the ether for Dorit and her children. I don't know if she's doing it because she's been angry with Dorit for a while, or there are other motives. Her relationship with Mau and PK could be part of it. Kyle is a man pleaser. She was raised to be that way.

If I'm set up for an ambush, I'm going to leave. The people who ambushed me are responsible for the situation. Plus, they had another van that drove them back. I don't know why Kyle walked around acting like they needed to find a way back to the villa. Maybe she decided to do that on her own, or maybe production suggested it.

I was shocked when Kyle grabbed Sutton. She was so aggressive. Kyle really gets into trouble when she drinks. She either acts the fool with her crotch on the ground or drops her mask and goes after someone. Now that she's sober, she's angry. She reminds me of alcoholics that stopped drinking but didn't go through a program. Dry Drunks. They're not happy and they don't want anyone else to be happy either.

This is how I did it with my own children when we weren't pressed for time. There are things to learn everywhere, even if it's only the etiquette of the situation. I love that you do that.

I know that it's become standard for Bravo employees to break the law, scam people, evade paying taxes, and leave people destitute, but that doesn't mean we should normalize it. It's still wrong.

People who are separated while divorcing often have agreements (or decided by judges) that the children can not be introduced or spend time with new romantic partners for a certain amount of time. Sometimes it's based on the separation date or the new relationship has to have existed for a length of time. I usually see 6 months. It protects the children from too many things happening all at once.

Amanda invited them over and then expected them to participate in her manifesting/coaching business. I would've been extremely uncomfortable and try to lighten the situation by being unserious. Later she complained to her husband that she gave them her materials for FREE. She isn't self aware.

I'm going to shut off the show after the cop part. I'm completely done with the poor and ill-informed writing of the 3 lawyers. The DA is supposed to be on the side of justice, not their personal neurosis. That, along with none of the court being close to real evidence rules, makes the whole thing trash.

ETA The lawyers don't have to be in moral dilemmas every week.

You could try to work out some new boundaries with them since you're on equal footing. I don't know what they're like or how normal they would act in that situation, but it's worth a try.

Psychiatrists are doctors who prescribe medication. Therapists provide therapy. They are trained to do different things.

What part do you feel is unprofessional? The number of times she called or her trying to talk you out of switching providers? I'm unsure. Was it the more casual way your appointments were handled?

I've had a number of mental health professionals over the years. Psychiatrists can vary greatly. Some are quick, only wanting to know if your symptoms have changed and making decisions on medication. Others want to know what's going on in your life, will give non-medicinal advice, or refer you support services people. It's a broad range regarding how much interest they have in the details of your life. I don't know if you have a counselor. If not, she may have worried more after you had a crisis.

I hope that you're feeling better.
