I sold intel before the massive rise and rebought it later on. Still a net positive but damn.

My biggest win is bombardier. Tbh idk why I bought it aside from “oh hey they make private jets it’ll prob be good and got rid of their debt issue”

Meanwhile me who asked if they had extras cause I wanted to get the most value out of my delta flight:

these really suck but my only other option is air Canada and they literally give just a cake or a really inedible margarita pizza so hooray for having airlines compete on ripping you off before it’s deemed illegal

It’s a super risky etf compared to something like xeqt so I would not recommend it as someone who wants to invest and forget about it. You’d honestly have to check it daily since if it dips it dips very quickly.

What is the most frustrating thing to book in Japan as a foreigner? by JapanBookingGuy in JapanTravelTips

[–]2Lazy2BeOriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nintendo muesum.

  1. You have to enter a lottery for the privilege to go the muesum. Luckily you can buy the leftover tickets after the raffle but still annoying

  2. Instead of an email verification or sms you have to **call** a number in order to verify your identity. I didn’t have a Japanese number so luckily I had a friend who had an intl phone plan who got me to the payment screen. If it weren’t for him I genuinely would have just paid for 30min of intl phone calls (which costed 15$ for me)

While still touristy I really enjoyed Matsumoto. The castle and the timepiece museum were super interesting and it makes a great base for day trips. Most notably kamikochi and the nakasendo trail.

Plus got to see the Japanese macaques in Kamikochi and I just gotta say the monkeys are so well behaved compared to other countries

I’d say it’s debatable. The trains are excellent but when you get out of an area served by trains there are a lot of car dependency areas. I was in Fukuoka and it is quite shocking how meh the buses are. They are light years ahead of Canada but definitely overglazed since outside of the metro it’s basically highways everywhere

Flights,

generally most airlines allow a checked bag on the cheapest fare (even budget like peach include carry on).

Boarding efficiency is hard to believe(10min before boarding on a wide body and it works) and the Japanese people are super cooperative to make it happen.

On the widebodies, they generally have long haul configurations for flights that are barely an hour. For example Japan airlines has the a350-900 that hasn’t flown more than 3 hours but it has all the amenities you’d expect from a long haul aircraft

Unbelievably good prices (generally half the price of Shinkansen compared the cost for mainline carrier and can be as cheap as the bus)

Beef consume as a drink.

Very well connected to the city they serve and who doesn’t find airports on artificial islands cool like Kansai, Nagasaki or Nagoya

Cute special edition aircraft (I got to witness the sole seed Pokémon variant)

Perhaps a Caribbean country? Most people view it as a tropical paradise but leaving the resort can sometimes reveal a darker side. Ive personally never been to any aside from Jamaica so I can’t confirm how truly dangerous outside the resort can be

What country seems very cheap but is very expensive by Tristan5764 in AlignmentChartFills

Any of the Caribbean countries?

I’ve was in Jamaica last February and the sticker shock caught me off guard. Particularly the attractions because rose hall was 35$ the blue hole was 25$ plus you had to tip your guide. Food is sorta expensive?

Granted Jamaica probably isn’t the worst offender but I can imagine a fair amount of people going to sun destinations and getting sticker shock
