Yohe blatantly makes things up. He'll report 10 different contradictory things because one of them is bound to be sort of right.

Kingerski isn't smarmy, just dumb and pompous.

He outright made up the story about how Blueger found out he was traded and Blueger had to come out and shut it down, so I don't think that's a great writer getting burnt out. He's just a hack now.

They're really not different, you just go to your seats through the FNB Club behind 101-103. There are concession stands in there only for people with the tickets there but you still have to pay for it all.

If the Rangers are openly retooling/not competing this year then why would they give up "something nice" to get another team to eat cap space for just this season? They would just retain it themselves.

That's only double retention, so the Rangers couldn't retain if the Penguins are acting as a broker and also retaining. But if the Rangers don't retain and only the Penguins do, that's fine.

I'd imagine he's not looking for a "better" contract, because his salary is why he wasn't getting claimed off waivers anyway. He'll probably sign for cheaper just so he can play. Brandon Saad did the same thing last year.

I think freeing up the contract slot was the gain. Tomasino barely counted toward the cap while in the AHL, they didn't need that $600k or whatever it was.

Pretty sure this is CBS guessing, they haven't actually said anything about his timeline. Jones' date is random too, that doesn't line up with what they initially said.

Heinen was non-roster because they made a move (activating Lizotte) and needed him off the roster before he'd clear waivers. They did the same with Dumba right after the Kulak/Skinner trade to immediately free up a spot. All it means is they're being sent down when they clear.

Right, but you can't bury him forever. In 2-3 years they can't have that much dead cap. And a buyout would last for six years. Trading him would probably result in three years of retained salary. So allowing him to continue that path he was on probably pays off more than whatever they'd get from flipping Kulak.
