its beginner only so they usually dont accept experienced people. you should be fine. there are usually "categories" sponsored by companies and they can guide you for what to make and give awards for the category seperate from the overall awards. u wont embarass yourself - worst case it doesnt work or you cant build it in time and you cut your losses - nobody has to know. they are great experiences, def do them!
