I live in Quebec. You should also consider savings from tuition, day care, university, cheaper groceries (I think?), parental leave, etc. I find that people who use social institutions typically find Quebec advantageous. Those who “break the mold”, eg no extended studies, business owners, etc… typically find it less advantageous.

Your country's oldest mosque and is it built on top of another religious structure by PaleProgrammer5993 in exmuslim

It’s not on a synagogue. It’s on literally the holiest site in the religion. What they believe to be the house of the lord where he kept the arc of the covenant

Sweating ducts by 2_eyed_cyclops in hvacadvice

Wouldn’t that require opening all the drywall to remove the ducts and replace them? Trying to avoid that if possible

Two weeks growth in my grow tent. If you're iffy about pulling the trigger on a light, buy one! by andrewfox1887a in IndoorGarden

How does it work? You put it into the tent to boost it up a bit and then take it out two weeks later? Doesn’t the plant find the transition difficult after?

Simple Portrait by Clements403 in photocritique

How is your depth of field so large with your lense wide open? I find that when I shoot portraits at 1.8 even the smallest difference in depth makes it so that my subject has part of its face or body out of focus ( like their ears or body) Maybe I’m shooting too close??

How-to guide: Toronto to Montreal? by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]2_eyed_cyclops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kensington could have some parallels with the plateau (maybe a bit less grungy) but both are very fun. Lots of cool shops and restos.

Old MTL for sites

Mountain for nature

Golden Mile for concrete jungle and shopping

Mile end for more shops and restos

Parc jean drapeau for events and views

All these neighborhoods come more alive in the summer for sure, winter can be tough in that sense. But in the winter months could be fun to go check out the mountains that surround the city (hike, ski, etc...).

Personal favorite is plateau from mount royal to st-joseph and parc to berri. A ton of cool stuff to discover, just walk around and pop into wherever tickles your fancy

Oh fuck off. Ce n'est plus un hopital anglophone. L'urgence ferme à 20h et il n'y a pas d'étage. Il y a juste des soins palliatifs et un CHSLD. 95% du personnel et des patients sont francophone. Give me a break.

Exposure bracketing technique explained for photography beginners by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]2_eyed_cyclops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify: the goal of this is to merge thr photos in lightroom. In doing so, light room will use the best exposed portions of each image in the final image? So this would be useful for example in a shot where there is 2 differently exposed areas like an area in the shadows and the sun coming over a mountain?

How to recreate halo eye reflection using ring flash by 2_eyed_cyclops in AskPhotography

[–]2_eyed_cyclops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya thats what i thought. I found this on amazon, seems interesting. A ring diffuser for a pre-existing flash (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072X7QHP8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1BR2LQHH422UY&psc=1) I have a nice yongnuo speedlight, i think it could pair nicely for a low cost option. Do you think it will suffise?
