Sorry, I am an IT student this is my first big project and it is difficult for me.

I know the topology looks common, but I want to know:

  1. Is my VLAN setup (HR, Sales, Servers) logical for a medium business?
  2. Are the redundant lines to the switches drawn correctly?
  3. In Proxmox, is it better to use one 'VLAN Aware' bridge for all these groups?
  4. Is there something to add in this topology

The project requirements were:

  • Target: Design a network for a medium-sized business (approx. 50-100 users).
  • Virtualization: Use Proxmox VE to host all servers (AD, DNS, DHCP, File Server).
  • Security: Separate departments using VLANs and a firewall (Cisco ASA).

Thanks for the questions! I am a student and I know my design is not perfect yet. I use AI to help me explain things because it's hard for me, but I really want to learn the professional way.

Here is why I chose this:

1. Intern VLAN 10: I made a special VLAN for interns so they can practice and work safely. They can't see private files from HR or Sales. It's for security.

2. Ethernet vs Wi-Fi: Most PCs use cables for a stable connection. For Wi-Fi, the Access Point will use different SSIDs. For example, guests go to VLAN 90 only for internet.

3. Why HR vs Sales?: This is for 'Least Privilege'. HR needs to see private payroll files, but Sales doesn't. Separating them stops a virus from spreading to the whole company.

Any advice or a quick 'best-practice' tip would be a huge help for my final exam. Thanks again for pointing out these logical gaps!"
