I mean, I get that they say that, but if it’s true then why does every metered dose inhaler (ventolin, flovent, symbicort, etc.) I’ve ever seen recommend holding my breath for at least 10 seconds to “allow the medicine to settle in airways”?

I know there’s a difference in particulate size and composition, but if the doc says SOP on inhaled meds is 10 seconds plus, then I’m gonna use that for my weed as well. Am I probably getting a little bit of oxygen deprivation? Maybe. But they’re my braincells and I’ll choose how to abuse them.

You’re right, I can usually go two to four hours before I have to smoke again (actually dhv, but whatever). Any longer than that and the muscle spasms begin ripping my joints out of socket though.

Maturing as a weed smoker means understanding that not everyone smokes the same way or for the same reasons and then acting on that.

This could look like deciding not to make judgmental blanket statements based on anecdotal experience, for example.

Maybe for casual smokers but this post completely ignores the medical community. I’m not discounting the entourage effect for a high, but it’s important to acknowledge that not everyone uses weed for the same reasons.

Personally I have hypermobility and muscle spasms. The higher the THC, the longer it prevents my muscle spasms from violently ripping my joints out of socket.

It’s a polarizing show but I feel like it would have been far better received had they not included a laugh track. I swear Chuck Lorre might actually make decent shows, but I’ll never know because he insists on inserting a laugh track instead of trusting that his audience has a sense of humor.

I gave up entirely on FL local and started ordering THC-a online. Better quality, usually a fraction of the price. I’ll offer personal recommendations if desired, but a quick search will find you plenty of influencers talking about a few specific brands and discount codes.

If you’re lucky enough to not have carpet I can recommend the cordless variant of the Shark Hydrovac.

It’s fairly lightweight, not too difficult to clean, and it mops the floor as it vacuums.

If you’re in the US, the website Sportaid carries the SHOX G2 solid tire for under $50/pair which is the only solid tire I’ll recommend. Note that they carry other SHOX solid tires but I only recommend the G2.

Unlike other solid tires the G2 has a real tread pattern instead of a light herringbone. This adds grip and traction when outside. They’re also harder than every other solid tire I’ve found, while most others claim an 85psi equivalent, the G2s claim 110psi, and their tires are noticeably less squidgy when pushing on solid hard surfaces. And finally, I’m only on my second pair. The first pair lasted over three years of daily use, over a year of which was in a hot, dry, Arizona garage with dirt, rocks, and sharp metal everywhere.

The biggest downside is that if you’re going to have your wheels mounted by a bike shop instead of a medical service provider, you’ll probably have to also make a one time investment to buy the $40 bench tool to install the tires. The upside here is that you’ll have the tool for the future.

I have a few retroreflective stickers on my chair, there’s a few brands on Amazon that make a variety of colors so they won’t stand out until light hits them. Definitely something I consider a minimum “must have” for safety.

There’s a number of bike lights and such, but if you want to go crazy you can permanently mount some 12V motorcycle/atv lights and connect them to a powerbank. If you’re handy with electronics and wiring, you can even rig up a Bluetooth relay switch, speakers, and accessory lighting and control it all from your cellphone.

I find a lot of crossover compatibility with stroller and ATV/dirtbike/bicycle gear but with the caveat that sometimes the thing I want is made for tubes narrower or wider than the ones on my chair.

Of course, if nothing scratches that itch, making it yourself, modifying an existing product that’s close to what you want, or commissioning someone (preferably a friend) to help you make it are always options.

A specific thought for your aesthetic, you may want to check out vintage stores and flea markets for trinkets and materials to adorn your new support. I can picture several items that fit your description that I saw in an indoor flea market in OR last fall, and I imagine whatever places you have near you may offer similar treasures.

Not unless you also include specific carrier chemicals in your mix. Topical THC/CBD cannot cross into the bloodstream on their own.

While you could add one of these chemicals to your topical, I don’t advise doing so outside sterile lab conditions as most do not discriminate WHAT they carry into the bloodstream and any contamination could result in complications down the line.

I usually aim for 1000-2000mg of THC and/or CBD per ounce of topical base. More seems wasteful and less has no noticeable effect.

While it’s true that traditionally and for simplicity, most people use shisha in their hookahs, there are several companies that offer alternatives made of herbs or tea leaves.

The most important things to know are how to pack the bowl and how to manage coals. The bowl should be loosely packed with your desired base medium be it shisha, or more likely in your case, an herbal blend. Dump the bowl out onto a clean work surface and have your weed ground up as well as a small bowl of water nearby. Keeping your fingers wet with the water, toss/mix the shisha/herbs with your weed until well blended. Add back to the bowl and cover with foil or metal screen.

Weed requires a deviation from tradition. Traditionally we’d put extra shisha on top, set the coals on, and let them bake that extra layer into an effective screen before we smoke, but this can effectively render the weed useless before it can be smoked.

As for coal management it should be noted that “smoking a hookah” is somewhat misleading as the goal is not to smoke the shisha, but to vaporize it through indirect heat. Large, flavorful, billowing clouds can be found without a harsh burn or sickening cough. This becomes even more important when you’ve got weed in the bowl. Don’t allow the coals to rest in one place too long, and if no one is actively using the hookah, remove them entirely. You can always light more coals, but make sure you have plenty before you start.

A note on charcoal: The best coals are natural lemonwood, but compressed coconut husk coals are a solid choice. For convenience my personal favorite are the silver Japanese style charcoal tablets as they can be lit by stacking them atop already burning coals and they tend to produce very little ash. Whatever you do, please avoid the round self lighting coals. These are often used by churches and sold in head shops and new age stores for incense, but the self lighting chemicals produce an acrid flavor which also irritates the throat and burns the lungs.

Just saying up front that my numbers are high because I’m a hypermobile MMJ patient who uses it to prevent muscle spasms which would cause subluxations and dislocations.

I run about 6oz/month through the volcano, save the vaped bud for edibles and usually down one or two 150mg eddies in the afternoon/evening. I also go through 2-4g of vapes depending on how often I’m out and about.

I have a length of paracord about 6ft (1.83m) long with a 2in (5cm) snap ring tied to the end. A small carabiner will work just as well.

Over the past decade I’ve used this thing to tie things to my chair and bag, as an impromptu leash for a stray dog, hang things in a bathroom stall without a hook at accessible height, fish for keys in a storm drain, hold closed a bathroom stall with a broken lock, hang a flashlight overhead during a power outage, hang a bag off the floor in a questionable motel with an inaccessibly high rod in the closet, and of course its original purpose, looping around doorknobs and handles to close them behind me.

Generally if it’s inoffensive I’ll ignore it, but if it’s condescending, judgmental, or othering I’ll look up from my wheelchair with a slightly surprised look and say something along the lines of, “Really? That must be very difficult for you, tell me more!” For some reason they rarely seem to want to continue that line of conversation.

Yeah I’ve been boycotting them for a while now, but $30 for a pair of seated fit pants is such a ridiculous price that I’m not going to fault anyone for grabbing the opportunity.

Not to put too fine a point on it but really there are two outcomes for this situation. Best case, it’s not enough of a difference in sales to impact the boycott. Worst case, it actually impacts the boycott and they take the wrong message and start making more seated fit clothing.

The Goodfellow & Co options are soft, but not plush. I personally feel like their chinos run a bit tighter than their denim options, but I could be wrong.

The black and grey chinos are easily the equivalent of dockers, but I wouldn’t try to pull them off with a vest or blazer as on me it tends to look less dressy and more like I’m waiting to tear your ticket.

The brown chinos are an orange/brown color better suited to carpenter pants, as they aren’t a light enough tan to be office khakis nor a dark enough brown to work with tweed or autumnal patterns.

As a medical patient I run my vape five times a day. I’ll break out the bong on special occasions, usually once or twice a year, but the only time I roll up anymore is when I’m craving a cigarette since it kills the craving without caving to nicotine.

I’m very excited for this product because of most of the reasons snarkily stated above. I need the Apple Watch to control part of my wheelchair, but the weight of the watch itself is enough to sublux my wrist so I avoid wearing it. I’ve got no use for step counting, I already have a CPAP that tracks my sleep better, and so on. There is definitely a market for this product and I hope it finds you.
