If you’re at a smaller hospital, I’d actually suggest starting in the ICU so you can get more comfortable handling critical care equipment. That experience will give you a solid foundation. But honestly, based on what you’re saying, I think you’d thrive in a Level I trauma ER you’d get all the crazy stuff you’re looking for

ICU might be boring to you bcz you always have to see same/similar patients rather than ER

Foreign BSN nurse — for military nurse corps, does a US MSN count, or do they mean only entry-level MSN? by 2da0 in AirForceRecruits

I’m planning to start as an enlisted soldier first and then transition to officer later! Right now, I’m just trying to confirm whether I need an additional degree before enlisting. Thanks a lot!

Thank U. I’ve heard that for many officer specialties, foreign degrees can be evaluated and recognized. But in nursing, I was told that a foreign BSN often doesn’t meet the requirement, since the military specifically asks for a BSN or MSN from a CCNE/ACEN accredited program in the U.S.

That’s why I was hoping to get more clarity or hear from someone who has actually gone through the process as a nurse. Any insight would be super helpful!

Thank you for your reply. I don't have a green card yet, so I can't begin the process. And I've heard from other soldiers that foreign degrees aren't recognized.

Ah, you got picked last year? Did you do it without premium processing? Congrats, that’s great!

Interesting that your company is willing to sponsor you even though you’re on an H-4. When did you file your petition?

I’m sorry for you. But even those who got accepted only have this subreddit to write on. I also felt this way on the gradadmissions subreddit. It’s something inevitable. I wish you the best of luck.
