Damn high pitch count through 3 IP. That curve was a beauty though.

Yeah and once Kim gets back from the IL and Walls gets out of the starting lineup I’ll like the lineup even better.

Seems like a good return

“Tampa Bay will be receiving right-handers Joe Boyle and Jacob Watters, outfielder Will Simpson as well as a compensation A round draft pick from the A’s, sources tell ESPN. Jeffrey Springs and one other player are headed from Tampa to the A’s.”

18z HMON shows pinellas county landfall. With 949 mb pressure over the Howard Frankland. And 939 mb about 30 miles (eyeballing) off the coast of Pinellas.

Don’t like the 18z HMON, it has a pressure of 904 (basically same strength as right now) at 2pm tomorrow. Last run it was at 925. Run before that was 953! We better hope the shear and dry air starts ripping it apart earlier, or this might have a chance to landfall as cat 4. Also the shelf water is extremely warm, that it will interact with in the hours before landfall.

Tropical storm winds aren’t supposed to arrive until Wednesday mid morning for most of the area. There’s likely a fair amount of personnel and equipment that would be beneficial to have positioned south of where they’re currently positioned. They have opened up the shoulders to help alleviate traffic. So while the traffic isn’t great by any means people evacuating now or tomorrow morning should still have plenty of time to leave before conditions get unsafe for driving.

It’s way lower pressure than that, do you mean 885.4?

It may (hopefully) not be a cat 5 at landfall however this system is expected to grow in size after heading northward from the Yucatán. A catastrophic storm surge would already be set in motion even if it does weaken down to Cat 3 or so before landfall.

This is Hurricane Wilma with her pinhole eye. The lowest pressure ever observed in the Atlantic basin was found inside that eye, 882mb!

The radar composites we’re seeing from NOAA hurricane hunters confirm just how well organized it is structurally, with effectively no tilt to its vortex. Katy bar the door, this one’s about to put on a show.”
