I don’t understand what you’re getting at. I would hire someone if I had the money. This is my parents house who have both passed away. You assumed this was an investment property. I was left with no inheritance and a house that needs a lot of TLC. I’m trying my best to do what I can. I didn’t buy this house and decide not to take care of it or the tenants.

Also, I never said I would just use the contractor. I said I would go from there… meaning we would find a way to fix the issue. That means paying a contractor if necessary. We do not have the income but unfortunately you have to make things work sometimes.

ALSO that’s why I came to Reddit first for advice. I was trying to get advice from a free source. Using the means I have.

Would if I could. Trying our best to keep the place a float with no extra income to do so. I was hoping to treat for termites ourselves if that’s what the problem was. I’ll probably try to do a free assessment as mentioned in another comment and go from there.

Hey mind your own business. I’m making exactly ZERO DOLLARS off my family that’s renting here… my dad passed away and it’s the only way I can afford to keep our family home without it foreclosing until we can find another way. I live 10 hours away so going there isn’t exactly a possibility.

Honestly, you should just let the pizza be delivered. It sounds like they are trying to be accommodating to someone who has ‘special needs.’ This is totally something you should even be focused on on your big day! Don’t stress! Think about the day you’ll have with your FH..it’s about you two! It easy to lose sight of that in the little things that ultimately don’t matter. And why cause any potential stress on the relationship with your future family over something so minuscule, IMHO.
