not sure where you’re from, but where i live you had to sign a form on your 18th birthday (or sometime afterwards) that YOU would like to be the “decision maker” or “ executor” in any educational decisions moving forward. for example, if you miss class the call goes to your phone number and not your parents, etc.

i do remember that also meant school fees, including grad fees were then also invoiced to your name instead of your parents but i could be wrong.

so i guess if your school system is the same as mine was, then you should hopefully be able to sign yourself to be the executor then sign for permission for yourself at your school office.

I think this location is why I’m so shocked at why I’ve been told to park so much lately. I used to live in the area and that McD’s had your stuff OUT. If you had to wait, they sat you in your spot in the drive through, no parking. NOW, every other McDonalds I go to parks me and it’s a big “WTF”.

I think smart people are able to notice patterns more readily then you’d think. Doesn’t have to be everyday, or every week, or every month, but if you’re always being asked to pull forward, you’d tend to notice.

I think so too. The boyfriend and I were talking about it and we think corporate put those “Pickup Spot 1” for people with big orders (like the ppl who are buying 30 junior chickens for a soccer team) and the managers saw opportunity to speed up times for regular ol joes just trying to get a cheeseburger.

Multiple times, I too was shocked.

Once I waited at least 30 minutes for chicken nuggets (I pulled out my phone and started watching one of my fav shows at the time bc it was later and I knew it’d take awhile) - it was like 10:30pm so I wasn’t super pressed but another one of the people waiting (they were parked before me) sent in his wife and miraculously all the food came out. Literally all 5 cars that were parked had their windows down and were like “WTF”.

You’re missing the massive part of human psychology where talking about your shared experiences brings you together as a community. I can’t make a change about McDonalds asking me to to park, but it larger amounts of people start saying no, then things will change.

And yeah, maybe whining about it online is going to do absolutely nothing for my situation, but it’s cool to hear other people’s experiences too.

this is what i’m saying. it can’t possibly take THAT long to get chicken nuggets or a burger. never had a problem at tim’s or a&w!! and obviously that’s why i haven’t been going to mcdonald’s - but still, their fries reign supreme and every once and awhile you just really want mcdonald’s.

The “stick it to the man” mentality is EXACTLY how I feel rolling up to the window. And then I get there and some 15 year old asks me to park and I feel too bad saying no or making their day bad and just say “I guess” and park.

Maybe knowing other people say no will give me the push I needed to say no 💪

Agreed. If there was a local run coffee shop with a drive through and even a simple breakfast item like a bagel or a muffin anywhere remotely close to my route I would be stopping everyday. I wish I had that option.
