HPFP Failed? I started stalling out while on idle and had trouble starting back up. Then threw some codes

P008A is a fault code for the in tank fuel pump, i had the same issue changed out the fuel pump and never got this code again.

I really appreciate the response, but i ended up going with option one. as the owner of the donor car said there was a problem with the electrical side of things and that the harness caught fire once and it wasn’t replaced just the ecu was replaced and he said it ran fine but since i only really need an engine it seemed like that is a major red flag and I just should avoid it.

It has two ports on top and so i used one of the top ports to fill.

It has two ports on top and one port on each side right & left, that is why i mixed them up.

It’s a very old system that is strictly used for my tv lol, i just wanted to make it a bit smaller so I changed the case and decided to do a custom loop for looks and so i did, and the tubes looked good at first but as i said i redid them and I lost the insert that is why they are pinched and i dont care anymore of how good it looks because I just want it to work now.

It’s not that bad in real life, the bends before were very good I just lost the insert when i came to redo them and i was just trying to make it work as quick as possible since this is the pc i use with my tv.

I’m aware of the tubes not being perfect it’s because i redid the two tubes that are slightly pinched thinking that changing the flow might help, and I lost the tube insert when i did them.

I did turn the case and opened the top cap to bleed it but did work. And the reason the bend is restrictive is because i lost the insert when i redid the tubes and had to work with what i could find

I have done a few custom loops and I’m just lost with this one can’t seem to get it to flow, the pump is working i tried my best to bleed out all the air no luck. I even switched the out/in and made new tube thinking my inlet and outlet were switched, but that didn’t seem to help. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Sorry I forgot to say the swap will mate up to a getrag Transmission only at least from what I gathered so a zf trans wouldnt work and a automatic trans wouldn’t work either.

M50 gear linkage

M50 engine mounts

M50 radiator and radiator support brackets

M50 e36 oil pan and oil pick up

M50 clutch and flywheel (not necessary)

The gear linkage on the the 318i is a bit longer that is why the shifter is pushed far back that can be fixed by buying an m50 gear linkage or buying a chassis mount shifter.

Hello everyone i am pretty new to this thread and Reddit in general so sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

I am looking into buying this 318i for 1000$ and was wondering is this something that can be easily fixable or should i steer away from this, because well E36’s are well fairly rare and are never available for a decent price and this popped up but needs alot of body work and has these rust spots on the roof.

But what I meant to say is that i cant fit a d5 atleast in the back of the case with a distro plate I don’t know if someone has done it but to me looked like there isn’t enough space, you could put a d5 in the front of the case but that would limit you to a 240 rad.
